WOBURN, MA—Children from Nikita’s Bollywood Dance Academy will perform on a fun hip hop medley from top 5 songs of Bollywood hits at Diwali Mela and Fall Bridal Expo on Sunday, Oct. 9, at Hilton Hotel in Woburn, MA.
Nikita Rao, founder of Nikita’s Bollywood Dance Academy, said children from her dance school will participate in the program. She has been a part of India New England events for last four years and yet again this year she brings a great festive performance to the wedding and Diwali Mela 2016 with great energy.
Rao is also the Artistic Director of the Nikita’s Bollywood Dance Academy in New England. Rao’s unique dance style and choreography fuses a diverse repertoire including Indian classical styles, such as Kathak, Bharata Natyam, Bhangra, and Folk; and, Eestern staples including Hip-hop, Contemporary, and Jazz.
Rao’s passion and desire to open her own dance school started eight years ago and today it is a well-established Dance School based in Nashua, NH and Chelmsford, Burlington and North Andover in Massachusetts.
She is planning to launch more branches in other parts of New England, with an aim to show just how diverse Bollywood is as a dance style and how it is constantly evolving and reinventing itself by crossing cultural boundaries
Rao has been active in the community and believes in giving back by performance in various charity shows and local concerts , her unique choreographies that fuse modern dance styles with today’s most popular and vibrant Hindi music and have won various dance shows in past.
