Hindi Medium surpasses Rs 50 crore mark

Mumbai–Actor Irrfan Khan starrer comedy drama film “Hindi Medium” has emerged as a “winner” at the box office by collecting Rs 53.60 crore.

Released on May 19, “Hindi Medium”, which also stars Pakistani actress Saba Qamar and “Tanu Weds Manu” fame actor Deepak Dobriyal, has collected over Rs 12 crores overseas, read a statement on behalf of the makers.

The film has already got tax exemption in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi.

“‘Hindi Medium’ crosses Rs 50 crore. Emerges a winner.. (Week 3) Friday – Rs 1.76 crore, Saturday – Rs 2.75 crore, Sunday – Rs 3 crore. Total: Rs 53.60 crore,” trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Monday.

It’s a rumour, says Salman about presence in Bhansali film

Mumbai–Actor Salman Khan on Monday refuted rumours that he is in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next project, but he is open to the idea of working with the filmmaker again.

Asked about if he is doing a film with Bhansali, Salman told media here: “It’s a rumour… Don’t panic. However, after this, if he (SLB) gets any idea, I am open.”

The actor has collaborated with Bhansali in the past in successful films like “Khamoshi: The Musical” and “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”.

Currently, Salman is busy promoting his Eid release “Tubelight”.

Vijay Sethupathi pledges to donate eyes

Madurai–Actor Vijay Sethupathi on Monday pledged to donate his eyes.

“I pledge to donate my eyes. It’s a noble thing to do.. to give others a chance to see this world,” Vijay told reporters at the opening ceremony of a private eye hospital here.

He urged his fans to rise up to the occasion and follow suit.

Busy with nearly half a dozen Tamil projects in his kitty, he is currently shooting for rural drama “Karuppan”.

His other projects include “Vikram Vedha”, which also stars R. Madhavan, “Aneethi Kathaigala, “96”, “Seethakathi”, “Mamanithan” and “Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren”.

Harshvardhan Rane plants saplings on World Environment Day

Mumbai–Actor Harshvardhan Rane took a step towards making the city green by planting saplings across Mumbai on the World Environment Day, which falls on June 5.

The activity was part of a campaign initiated by moneycontrol.com, a financial platform, and crowdfunding platform Impact Guru.

The “Sanam Teri Kasam” actor also spoke about the need for more greenery.

He said in a statement: “Just like we celebrate other festivals, World Environment Day too, should be observed and given due importance. I have always been pro-tree plantation, and I encourage everyone else to do the same.”

“It is extremely essential for us to take due care of the planet we live on, which will also benefit our future generations.”

The event at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park marked the first day of the the month-long campaign that aims to see 5,000 saplings planted.

Won’t be able to play a dancing hero: Nawazuddin

Mumbai–Critically acclaimed actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui says he cannot dance as well as other young heroes of Bollywood, but he can try to match up with them.

Nawazuddin will be seen in “Munna Michael” with Tiger Shroff, who is known for his dancing skills.

Present at the trailer launch of “Munna Michael” here on Monday, Nawazuddin said: “I won’t be able to play a dancing hero. But yes, I would love to play a hero in any film.

“I think Tiger and our whole team helped me to dance a little bit in the film. I think somehow I manage just 5 per cent of Tiger’s level.”

Asked about his experience of working with Nawazuddin, Tiger said: “I think with every character, Nawaz bhai’s body language changes, and that is a sign of a good actor.

“I learnt a lot from him as an actor during the shooting of the film.” The action dance movie’s female lead Nidhhi Agerwal is making her debut. Produced by Viki Rajani, “Munna Michael” is releasing on July 21.

I don’t take relationship advice from dad: Harshvardhan Kapoor

Mumbai–Actor Harshvardhan Kapoor, who is a “private person”, says he doesnt go to his father and actor-filmmaker Anil Kapoor for relationship advice.

Harshvardhan spoke about being an introvert, who enjoys his own company, in an interview for GQ India’s June 2017 issue, read a statement.

“No, that’s too personal. I’m very private (in these matters),” Harshvardhan said when asked if he seeks relationship advice from his father.

Harshvardhan, who forayed into Bollywood with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s “Mirzya” last year, says he is very comfortable around women – thanks to the company of his mother and sisters Sonam and Rhea.

“In general, I’m very comfortable around women because of the amount of time I’ve spent with my mother and two sisters. I’m a laid-back guy – I don’t ask too many questions and I’m not overbearing,” he said.

On the work front, Harshvardhan is busy with his next “Bhavesh Joshi”.
