He said he will join Muslims from over 70 chapters across the nation to convene at the Hill, which will be the largest group of Muslims to speak with political leaders since the travel ban was signed.

Massachusetts Rep. Jim McGovern, Co-Chair of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, will address members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community at a kickoff event to be held in the House building on Capitol Hill.

Established in 1920, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA is the largest organized Muslim community in the United States. Its members believe in the Messiah, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian and believe in Islam that teaches to obey those in authority and to be loyal to the country of residence.

During the campaign, President Trump said unfortunate and hurtful comments about Muslims, Rana said.

“We hope and pray that he corrects his misstatements as President, works closely with American Muslim leaders, and builds bridges between his administration and the American Muslim community, who are a vital and indispensable part of our democracy.  We look forward to the opportunity to work with President-Elect Trump on these vital tasks,” said Rana. “We will continue to be loyal to our country of residence as that is one of the tenets of true Islam.”
