Orry Reveals Why He Ended His Friendship With Sara Ali Khan

MUMBAI–Social media personality Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has opened up about his falling out with Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan, revealing that he no longer considers her a friend following a series of personal disagreements involving the actress and her mother, Amrita Singh.

Appearing on Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi’s talk show “Double Date,” Orry discussed his views on friendship, loyalty and the disappointment he has experienced in relationships with people he once considered close.

During the conversation, he was asked to name the most famous person he had blocked, unfollowed or muted on social media. His response brought up Sara Ali Khan and her mother, Amrita Singh.

Orry, who has known Sara since childhood, recalled supporting the actress during a particularly difficult period in her life. He said their friendship extended back to their school and college years, and he believed their relationship was strong enough to survive challenging circumstances.

“We were childhood friends, and we went to college together. We were in Goa when Sara was going through a very big case, and I was with her throughout this. Everyone was telling me to leave her, but I didn’t”, he said.

Despite their long history, Orry suggested that certain incidents eventually damaged their relationship beyond repair.

He specifically referred to an unpleasant encounter with Sara’s mother, claiming that Amrita Singh had scolded him and made comments about him to other people.

According to Orry, the absence of an apology and his perception that Sara had accepted her mother’s behavior made it difficult for him to continue the friendship.

“If I pretend to be friends with her now, that means whatever her mother did to me, whatever she spoke about me to everyone else, that means she is okay with it. And I never got any apology. I can’t stay friends with her”, he said.

Orry made it clear that he was unwilling to maintain a relationship simply because of their shared history or public association.

He emphasized that he places greater importance on sincerity and mutual respect than on maintaining appearances.

“I chase genuine friendship. I do not want to maintain a friendship that is not genuine. I am a fake person, main bahar se aur andar se poora nakli ho sakta hoon, if you want me to be fake”, he said.

His comments offered insight into the personal tensions behind the breakdown of a friendship that had lasted for years.

The social media personality also discussed feeling disappointed by other close friends during his participation in the reality television show “Khatron Ke Khiladi.”

Orry described the experience as mentally and physically demanding and said he had expected encouragement from people he considered his closest friends.

However, he claimed that some of those friends failed to acknowledge his participation, neither sharing his social media posts nor even liking them.

He said the lack of support was particularly hurtful given the challenges he faced while appearing on the show.

Throughout the interview, Orry maintained that genuine friendships require mutual support and respect, and that he is no longer interested in preserving relationships that he believes have become one-sided.

His remarks about Sara Ali Khan and Amrita Singh reflect his account of the events surrounding their falling out. Neither Sara nor her mother was quoted responding to his allegations in the interview. (Source: IANS)
