Speaking at the film’s trailer launch, Devgn said the investigation has moved beyond the police after the case remained unsolved, bringing the Crime Branch into the story.

“The police case is not solved, so we had to move on. So we have made the threat bigger. Now crime branch is involved. So that makes the threat bigger. There is no repetition. And there are two different characters,” he said.

He also said he hopes Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph watch the Hindi film and approve of its new direction.

“So, I want Mohanlal sir and Joseph to see the film because I would also like their approval, you know, that they love it. That would make me very happy,” Devgn said.

Tabu Recalls Doubts Over ‘Drishyam 2’ After Malayalam Version’s Release

Tabu

Speaking at the trailer launch of “Drishyam The Conclusion,” Tabu said the film arrived shortly after the pandemic, when there were also concerns about whether audiences would return to theaters.

“When the second part was going to release, it was just after the pandemic and everything. And the Malayalam version had already come. Some of my friends themselves were like, ‘Yeh aa nahi hai, tum log ki picture kaun dekhne jaayega?’” she recalled.

Tabu said she also worried that audiences who had already watched the Malayalam film might skip the Hindi version.

“It was really worrying for me to think that maybe nobody would go and see it here,” she said.

However, the film went on to find a strong audience, and Tabu said the excitement surrounding the franchise remains something she treasures.

“I am not saying goodbye to this unless Kumar ji and Abhishek give us something on paper saying that it will never be made again,” she added.

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, “Drishyam The Conclusion” stars Ajay Devgn, Jaideep Ahlawat, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Prakash Raj, Kamlesh Sawant, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 2, 2026. (Source: IANS)
