Rakul Preet Singh Jokes About Life After Giving Up Coffee

Mumbai — Rakul Preet Singh shared a humorous glimpse into life without caffeine, joking that her body was not prepared for her decision to quit coffee.

The actress posted an Instagram video captioned, “Watch me transform after giving up caffeine.” The clip begins with Singh laughing and appearing energetic before showing her lying on a bed looking irritated after giving up coffee.

“Apparently, quitting coffee was a decision my body was not consulted about,” she wrote.

Singh frequently shares moments from her personal and professional life on social media, including posts with her husband, Jackky Bhagnani. She recently joked that their working relationship involves a mix of business discussions, laughter and conversations about food.

On the work front, Singh is set to play Surpanakha in Nitesh Tiwari’s “Ramayana.”

Madhuri Dixit Says ‘Kon Honar Crorepati’ Will Show Her More Spontaneous Side

Mumbai — Madhuri Dixit says hosting “Kon Honar Crorepati,” the Marathi adaptation of “Kaun Banega Crorepati,” will give audiences a chance to see a more spontaneous side of her personality.

The actress said she was drawn to the show because of the opportunity to connect with contestants through their personal stories, dreams and aspirations.

“What excited me immediately was wanting to connect with people through their stories and their dreams. Kon Honar Crorepati is more than simply answering questions and winning money, it is about the confidence and the courage to dream,” Dixit said.

She added that hosting differs from acting because it allows her to be herself rather than play a character.

“I think audiences will see a more spontaneous side of me with Kon Honar Crorepati,” she said. “I’m someone who enjoys conversations, so I’m looking forward to these real, unpredictable interactions.”

The show marks Dixit’s return to television hosting after 24 years. She previously hosted “Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hai.”

“Kon Honar Crorepati” has earlier been hosted by Sachin Khedekar, Swapnil Joshi and Nagraj Manjule. The first promo featuring Dixit in a traditional Maharashtrian look was released earlier this month.

Kriti Sanon’s Raksha Bandhan Ad Pulled After Online Backlash

Mumbai — A jewelry brand has withdrawn a Raksha Bandhan advertisement featuring Kriti Sanon after the campaign sparked criticism over the actress’ outfit.

Kriti Sanon

Sanon appeared in the ad wearing an off-white ensemble featuring a bralette-style blouse, cape and draped skirt. Some social media users argued that the outfit was inappropriate for a campaign centered on the traditional festival.

The brand said Wednesday that it had withdrawn the advertisement from all media after the criticism.

“We have the highest regard and deep respect for Indian culture, traditions and festivals,” the company said. “If our recent advertisement has inadvertently hurt the sentiments of some segments of society, that was not our intent at all.”

The decision came a day after Sanon defended the campaign, saying the meaning of a festival should not be judged by clothing.

“The essence of festivals is not in the clothes you wear, it is in the emotions and meaning you hold for the traditions,” she wrote on Instagram.

Sanon also criticized attempts to judge a woman’s respect for culture based on her appearance, writing, “Culture & Traditions are in her heart, not in her neckline!”

Actress Kangana Ranaut had also weighed in on the controversy, questioning Sanon’s choice of outfit while saying women have a wide range of clothing options available to them.

Shirodkar recently appeared on “India’s Best Dancer Season 5,” where she recalled missing out on the iconic song “Chaiyya Chaiyya” opposite Shah Rukh Khan. She said choreographer Farah Khan asked her to lose weight for the number but ultimately decided not to cast her.

The song was eventually performed by Malaika Arora.
