Bigg Boss 20: Qazi Touqeer Recalls Sharing a Room With Arijit Singh During Their Fame Gurukul Days

MUMBAI– Singer and Bigg Boss 20 contestant Qazi Touqeer has reminisced about his early friendship with renowned playback singer Arijit Singh, recalling how the two shared a room while participating in the singing reality competition Fame Gurukul in 2005.

During a conversation inside the Bigg Boss 20 house, Qazi spoke about his longstanding bond with Arijit, which began more than two decades ago when both were teenagers hoping to establish careers in the Indian music industry.

Qazi recalled that they became roommates after being selected for Fame Gurukul, an experience that marked the beginning of a friendship that has continued despite their different professional journeys.

While Qazi went on to win the reality competition, Arijit eventually emerged as one of Bollywood’s most successful playback singers.

During the conversation, Qazi also promised fellow contestant Gullu that he would arrange front-row seats for an Arijit Singh concert after the conclusion of Bigg Boss 20.

The friendship between the two singers recently attracted attention after Arijit publicly expressed support for Qazi following his entry into the reality show’s house.

Writing on his private X account, Arijit said, “I will have to watch Bigg Boss for the first time because apna rockstar Qazi hai udhar.”

The message reflected the close relationship the singers have maintained since their early days in the entertainment industry.

Qazi has frequently spoken about his friendship with Arijit and has shared glimpses of their reunions on social media.

During a recent visit to Arijit’s hometown in West Bengal, Qazi shared moments from their time together, including riding a scooter, interacting with local residents and playing cricket.

Reflecting on their journey from Fame Gurukul to the present, Qazi said that although both singers have grown older, they remain teenagers at heart.

He described Arijit as a musician motivated by genuine passion for his craft and praised his personality and approach to life.

According to Qazi, Arijit has remained free of insecurity and jealousy despite achieving enormous success in the music industry.

Both singers first gained public recognition when they appeared on Fame Gurukul in 2005.

Qazi emerged as one of the competition’s winners alongside Ruprekha Banerjee, while Arijit finished in sixth place.

Although their careers subsequently followed different paths, their friendship has endured for more than 20 years.

Qazi’s latest recollections inside the Bigg Boss house have once again drawn attention to the early connection between the two singers, long before Arijit became a leading voice in Hindi film music. (Source: IANS)
