LearnQuest Dance Festival Returns to Framingham with Full-Day Celebration of Ensemble Performance

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — The 3rd annual LearnQuest Dance Festival will take place on May 9 at Keefe Regional Technical School, bringing a full day of Indian classical dance performances, theatrical productions, and ensemble showcases to the Greater Boston area.

Running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the festival has grown steadily since its launch, drawing hundreds of attendees and establishing itself as a notable cultural event in the region. Organized by LearnQuest Academy of Music, the program emphasizes both artistic excellence and accessibility, featuring a mix of internationally recognized performers and local dance students.

This year’s centerpiece is the North American presentation of Enchantment, a theatrical production exploring the life and inner world of legendary musician Ravi Shankar. Written by Gowri Ramnarayan and incorporating original recordings by Shankar along with vocal compositions by Bombay Jayashri, the performance offers a narrative-driven interpretation of the artist’s journey.

Additional highlights include Kathak Yātrā, led by Shambhavi Dandekar, which traces the evolution of the Kathak dance tradition through ensemble performance. The program also features Sri Krishna Parijatham, a Kuchipudi dance drama directed by Sailaja Thummala, as well as a Bharatanatyam segment showcasing group choreography by students of Sridevi.

Festival organizers say the event is designed not only as a performance platform but also as a space for collaboration and learning. Under the leadership of Pallavi Nagesha, the festival brings together professional artists and emerging dancers on the same stage, supported by full technical production resources.

Unlike some performance models, LearnQuest compensates featured artists and integrates student performers into professionally staged productions, reflecting a broader effort to support sustainability and growth within the classical arts community.

With its combination of performances, storytelling, and cross-generational participation, the festival continues to expand its reach while highlighting the role of ensemble work in traditional dance forms.

Tickets and a full schedule are available through LearnQuest, with organizers inviting audiences to attend what they describe as an immersive, day-long celebration of music, movement, and cultural tradition.
