Concert Featuring Kavita Krishnamurthy and L. Subramaniam Rescheduled to June 13 in Lynn

LYNN, Mass.— The highly anticipated “Bollywood & Beyond” concert featuring acclaimed vocalist Kavita Krishnamurthy and renowned violinist L. Subramaniam has been postponed, organizers told INDIA New England News.

Originally scheduled for Sunday, March 29, the event will now take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the same time and venue.

The concert will still begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Lynn Memorial Auditorium in Lynn, Massachusetts, according to ticket information on Sulekha. All previously purchased tickets are expected to remain valid for the new date.

Presented by Generation Bollywood, the concert brings together two of India’s most celebrated musical figures for an evening that blends Bollywood classics with Indian classical and global influences. The program is expected to showcase a fusion of genres, appealing to a wide audience of music lovers.

Kavita Krishnamurthy, born Sharada Krishnamurthy, is widely regarded as one of India’s most accomplished playback singers. Over a career spanning more than four decades, she has recorded more than 50,000 songs in over 45 languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and Marathi. Her versatility and expressive voice have made her a defining figure in Indian cinema music.

She rose to prominence in the 1980s and 1990s with iconic songs such as “Hawa Hawai,” “Nimbooda,” and “Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast,” collaborating with legendary composers including R. D. Burman, A. R. Rahman, and the duo Laxmikant–Pyarelal. Her accolades include four consecutive Filmfare Awards for Best Female Playback Singer and the prestigious Padma Shri, awarded in 2005 for her contribution to music.

Krishnamurthy has performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Royal Albert Hall in London and Lincoln Center in New York, captivating audiences with both Bollywood hits and classical fusion performances.

Her husband and collaborator, L. Subramaniam, is an internationally acclaimed violinist known for blending classical Carnatic music with Western orchestral traditions. Together, they have contributed significantly to global music through performances and educational initiatives, including the Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts.

Organizers say the rescheduled June concert will deliver the same rich musical experience, celebrating the legacy and continued global appeal of Indian music.

Attendees are encouraged to mark their calendars for the new date as anticipation continues to build for what promises to be a memorable evening.
