Mumbai– Suniel Shetty returns as Santha in Hunter 2, but this time, he’s a man transformed. The seasoned actor has revealed that he made a conscious and emotional shift in how he approached the second season—bringing new depth, intensity, and purpose to his role.
In a candid conversation with IANS, Shetty shared that his performance in Hunter 2 comes from a very different place than in the first season.
“I am very different in this season,” said Shetty. “The body language is different, the look is different, the emotions are different. In Season 1, Santha was carefree and careless. Now, it’s all about family—and there is nothing else that matters.”
From Reckless to Relentless: A Father on a Mission
The emotional heart of Hunter 2 is driven by Santha’s desperate quest to rescue his daughter. This shift, Shetty explained, added a personal and paternal urgency to the character that wasn’t present in the first season.
“He wants his daughter back—at any cost. There’s no distraction, no other objective. Like any real father, he’s obsessed, focused, and will go to any lengths,” Shetty said. “If I’ve managed to convey the emotion of a father who’s fighting for his child, I believe I’ve done justice to the role.”
A Fresh Lens on Familiar Ground
While Hunter is known for its gritty action and stylized storytelling, Shetty insisted that Season 2 demanded more than action—it required emotional vulnerability and transformation.
“I approached it with a fresh mindset. Santha is not the same man anymore,” he noted. “His journey is raw, emotional, and deeply personal now.”
The Cast and Release
Directed by Prince Dhiman and Alok Batra, Hunter Season 2 features an ensemble cast including Jackie Shroff, Anusha Dandekar, and Barkha Bisht. The series premiered for free on July 24 on Amazon MX Player.
With Santha’s evolution from reckless to relentless, Hunter 2 promises both high-octane action and an emotional punch—a combination Shetty says will resonate deeply with viewers, especially fathers. (Source: IANS)
