Zamindar’s Clubhouse Brings Modern Indian Fine Dining Experience to Charlotte

New restaurant blends regional Indian cuisine, contemporary design, and cultural storytelling in a 7,500-square-foot space.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte’s dining scene is set to welcome a new addition with the opening of Zamindar’s Clubhouse, a restaurant that aims to combine Indian culinary traditions with the atmosphere of historic social clubs that once played a central role in Indian cultural life.

Spanning 7,500 square feet, the restaurant features a dining room, bar, lounge, and outdoor patio designed to immerse guests in an experience inspired by India’s history, craftsmanship, and hospitality traditions.

The venture is the latest chapter for founder David Pandoria, a former corporate sales executive whose career took an unexpected turn after a life-changing battle with stage four squamous cell carcinoma in 2023. Following months of treatment and recovery, Pandoria left corporate life to pursue his passion for hospitality, drawing on years of experience bringing people together through music as a DJ within the Southeast Asian American community.

Leading the kitchen is Executive Chef and co-founder Vamshi Krishna Adi, whose culinary credentials include stints at some of the country’s most acclaimed Indian restaurants. Originally from Hyderabad, India, Chef Vamshi trained at the Culinary Academy in Hyderabad before moving to the United States. He has worked at notable establishments including Michelin-starred Junoon in New York and Michelin-recognized Rooh in San Francisco.

Chef Vamshi has also built a growing restaurant portfolio of his own, including Gazab, Ishq, and Kebab Ishq in New York City. His restaurant Ishq was added to the Michelin Guide shortly after opening and later received a Michelin Bib Gourmand designation.

At Zamindar’s Clubhouse, Chef Vamshi will showcase a menu highlighting the diversity of Indian cuisine through regional specialties, street food-inspired dishes, tandoor selections, curries, seafood, and Hyderabadi-inspired biryanis. Signature offerings include Old Delhi Butter Chicken, Dum Ka Gosht, Calicut Mango Lobster Curry, and Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani, alongside creative interpretations of traditional favorites such as Jalebi Chaat and Chukander Cheese Kulcha.

The restaurant’s interior design draws inspiration from colonial-era Indian clubhouses and the Zamindari tradition, featuring velvet seating, brass accents, carved wood details, vintage décor, tropical greenery, and warm lighting intended to create an intimate and welcoming atmosphere.

A second concept, Regiment One55 Bar & Lounge, is expected to open within the venue, offering a cocktail-focused program, shareable plates, live music, and DJ performances.

With its blend of elevated Indian cuisine, immersive design, and entertainment offerings, Zamindar’s Clubhouse hopes to establish itself as a destination for diners seeking both culinary innovation and a deeper connection to Indian culture and heritage.
