Uber India and South Asia President Prabhjeet Singh Steps Down

New Delhi — Uber India and South Asia President Prabhjeet Singh has stepped down after 11 years with the ride-hailing company to pursue another leadership opportunity.
An Uber spokesperson confirmed Singh’s departure and said the company remained committed to expanding in India, one of its most important global markets.
“India is one of Uber’s most important markets globally, an important driver of innovation and long-term growth. The strength of our business today reflects the incredible team and foundation built over the years,” the spokesperson stated.
“We thank Prabhjeet for his leadership and lasting contributions in his decade-long journey with Uber – we remain deeply committed to our next phase of growth in India,” the spokesperson added.
Singh joined Uber more than a decade ago and helped shape the company’s operations across India and South Asia during a period of rapid growth and intensifying competition in the ride-hailing industry.
Under his leadership, Uber expanded into more Indian cities and diversified beyond traditional cab-hailing services. The company also increased its focus on technology-driven mobility, strengthened its relationships with drivers and introduced initiatives intended to improve the customer experience.
Singh oversaw Uber’s regional operations as the company adapted to changing consumer preferences, technological advances and shifting market conditions. Uber has consistently identified India as an important part of its global growth strategy.
His departure comes as the company continues to invest in new services and strengthen its position in India’s mobility market.
Uber has not announced a successor or provided details about its leadership transition. (Source: IANS)
