BEDFORD, MA- Two shows of “Begani Shaadi Mein” last week connected deeply with the audience of about 1,000 people in both shows. The show was produced by the New England Hindi Manch and written by the organization’s founder and president Preetesh Shrivastava.
In 2023, the Hindi Manch had brought the same production and was well received.

“With two sold out shows last year, the comedy play was watched by 1000 people in New England, which is unusual for any local production,” Mr. Shrivastava told INDIA New England News. “We were apprehensive of announcing two more shows this year, but to our pleasant surprise, the first show was sold out and the second show was very well attended. This gives great satisfaction to all involved artists and an assurance that we are producing something that is well appreciated.”
The two shows of “Begani Shaadi Mein/ बेगानी शादी में” were held on Saturday at the John Glenn Middle School auditorium in Bedford, MA.
“The idea behind writing ‘Begani Shaadi Mein’ was to create a play with multiple characters that gives an opportunity to many for a stage performance. I am very happy that the audience connected with each character and enjoyed them,” said Mr. Shrivastava. “For a writer, it is a great feeling to see characters from their writing come alive. I am proud that the artists not only brought these characters to life, they also enhanced them by adding their own creativity.”
In addition to comedy play, Hindi Manch also provided a wholesome wedding experience, flush with music, comedy, dances and beautiful colors of wedding attires, and some wedding vendors outside, including a typical Indian paan shop.
