Amar Upadhyay to quit ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’

Mumbai–Actor Amar Upadhyay, who plays the role of Dharam in “Saath Nibhana Saathiya”, will soon quit the popular soap opera.

“My character is ending in the show. It is sad because I think audience has accepted this jodi of Meera (Tanya Sharma) and Dharam and have started liking them,” Amar said in a statement.

However, his departure came as shocking news to the actor.

“Initially I thought they will build the chemistry more amongst the two and when I got to know about this, I was also shocked but it is okay. I trust the makers and I’m sure whatever they are doing is as per the requirement of the script,” Amar said. “I don’t know if I will be brought back in the show but for now heavy schedule has taken a toll on my health so for now I’m going to take proper rest which is much required,” he added.

“Saath Nibhana Saathiya” is aired on Star Plus.

Gautami Kapoor’s real kids ‘fond’ of her reel child

Actress Gautami Kapoor says her children – Aks and Sia – are “fond” of her onscreen child – Ria, who she is seen as a mother to on TV show “Parvarrish Season 2”.

Gautami, who is married to actor Ram Kapoor, often gets surprises from her onscreen daughter Ria (Bhavika Sharma) and other child actors on the show — Jassi (Diana Khan) and Jogi (Anuj Pandit Sharma). So, to surprise them, Gautami’s real life children landed on the set to meet their mother’s reel daughter and other children.

“My kids Aks and Sia are very fond of Ria, Jassi and Jogi and they were very excited about the ongoing ‘Student of the Year’ track in the show. For them, this is like an actual competition and they personally wanted to meet them and wish them luck,” Gautami said in a statement.

“During their entire time on the set, they were very keen about the sequence and they cheered them for every act they performed. My kids have given me visits on the sets in my previous shoot but this was their first visit on ‘Parvarrish Season 2’ and this was specially dedicated to Ria, Jassi and Jogi,” she added.

“Parvarrish Season 2” is aired on Sony Entertainment Television.

Abhay Vakil gets injured on ‘Silsila Pyaar Ka’ set

Actor Abhay Vakil, who is currently seen playing the role of Raunak Tiwari in TV show “Silsila Pyaar Ka”, injured himself while shooting for an upcoming fight sequence.

While shooting on Lonavala cliffs, a sequence required Abhay to fight goons bare feet. During the shoot, Abhay accidentally landed on a two inch nail which pierced through his flesh making his toe bleed heavily.

The injury was so bad that he couldn’t walk and had to stop shooting for a while. The production tried using ice and antiseptic but the blood was just not stopping. The team went to look for a doctor as it was very important for him to take tetanus vaccination to avoid future disease.

“I was injured very badly while shooting for sequence where I had to chase a car. While the shot was on I didn’t notice a couple of iron nails lying on the other side as well and one of them pierced through my leg,” Abhay said in a statement.

“The pain was terrible and I couldn’t move my leg but I’m really thankful to my production team as they immediately stopped the shoot and provided me the first aid.

“As we were shooting in an isolated village, one of the production guys went all the way to the city to get a doctor for me. And since the show has gone seven days a week. I’m still shooting despite the pain without a holiday or a break,” he added.
