Kajal Aggarwal Says Some Films Are Defined by the Magnitude of Their Stories, Not the Length of a Role

The actress, who plays Mandodari in Nitesh Tiwari's ambitious 'Ramayana', says she feels immensely proud to be part of a cinematic project deeply rooted in India's cultural heritage and collective faith.

Mumbai Actress Kajal Aggarwal has expressed immense pride in being associated with filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming magnum opus Ramayana, where she essays the role of Mandodari. The actress said that while her character may have limited screen time, being part of a story with such deep cultural and historical significance is an honour in itself.

Taking to social media on Saturday, Kajal shared her thoughts on her association with the ambitious project, describing it as a special experience that goes beyond the size of an individual role.

“It is an immense moment of pride to be associated with a magnum opus like Ramayan, in any capacity. Albeit my role may be small, being part of a story that is so deeply woven into our culture, our history and our very existence, and being associated with a phenomenal team of such passionate and dedicated artists and technicians, truly fills my heart,” she wrote.

The Singham actress also expressed gratitude to producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari for giving her the opportunity to be part of a project that, she believes, will remain etched in history. She also praised her co-stars and the entire team for their dedication and commitment to the film.

Addressing her fellow artistes, Kajal said their performances and passion had been a source of inspiration, encouraging everyone involved to continually raise the bar and give their best.

“To all the wonderful artists, you were nothing short of phenomenal and such an inspiration. Your dedication, talent and commitment are a reminder to always raise the bar and put our very best foot forward,” she shared.

Reflecting on the significance of her role, the actress pointed out that the importance of a film cannot always be judged by the length of an actor’s appearance or the number of minutes spent on screen. Instead, it is the scale of the story and the passion invested in bringing it to life that make an association meaningful.

She further described being part of Ramayana as a privilege because of its deep connection with collective faith and divinity.

Expressing gratitude to audiences for their affection, Kajal thanked everyone for embracing her character, however small, with warmth and appreciation. She concluded that some professional associations hold significance far beyond the roles actors portray, adding that Ramayana would always remain one such experience for her.

The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, is among the highly anticipated cinematic adaptations of the Indian epic Ramayana. (Source: IANS)
