TriNethra: The 4th Annual Third Eye Festival of Dance Set for Nov. 16-17 in Lexington

LEXINGTON, MA—Organized by Jayshree Bala Rajamani, founder of the Bharathakalai School of Dance, the 4th annual TriNethra, the Third Eye Festival of Dance, is set for Nov. 16-17 at the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum in Lexington, MA.

Ms. Rajamani told INDIA New England News that this festival is aimed at promoting dance and dancers and re-creating a new-found connection with dance by “opening the third eye” towards dance appreciation.

She said 15 dancers and about four musicians, including Mouli Pal, Urmi Samadar, Yaksha Loka, Boston and Bharathakalai Performing Troupe and two upcoming young dancers in a special presentation will perform during the two-day festival.

Here is the schedule of the festival, which will be held at Scottish Rite Masonic Museum located at 33 Marrett Road in Lexington, MA:

Friday November 16th

ACT 1

6:45 – 7:45pm

Odissi by Mouli Pal

ACT 2, 8:00 – 9:00pm

Chakram A thematic presentation of Kalidasa’s Ritu Samharam by the Bharathakalai Performing Troupe

Saturday November 17th

Special Performance

6:00 – 6:30pm

Bharathanatyam By Students of Jayshree Bala Rajamani

ACT 1, 6:45 – 7:30pm

Kathak by Urmi Samadar

ACT 2, 7:45 – 9:15pm

Yakshaganam performed by Yaksha Loka, Boston

When Rajamani started the festival four years ago, her ideas was to provide a stage where local dancers could showcase their art and propagate a renewed love of dance.
