Stebin Ben Reveals He First Messaged Nupur Sanon in 2016
Mumbai — Singer Stebin Ben has revealed that his relationship with Nupur Sanon began years after he first sent her an Instagram direct message proposing a musical collaboration.
Ben and Sanon recently appeared on Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi’s “Double Date,” where they spoke about how their shared interest in music and an Instagram interaction eventually developed into a relationship.
“We had a mutual love for music. Nupur is a classically trained musician and singer, and I haven’t taken any formal training, but I used to sing,” Ben said.
He said the two began talking after exchanging compliments about each other’s work on Instagram, though his first attempt to contact Sanon came several years earlier.
“I had actually sent her a DM many years back in 2016 for a collaboration. At that time, she was a YouTuber,” Ben said.
Sanon, the sister of actress Kriti Sanon, said she did not see the message until nearly four years later. In 2020, she came across Ben’s cover of “Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai” and was impressed by his voice and rendition.
“I was single at that time and one day I saw Stebin’s DM on my Instagram. It was this classic request for a music collaboration that he had sent back in 2016,” Sanon recalled.
“There was some vibe and energy in his text, so I replied and we started talking. He used to send me voice notes of songs, and I really liked them,” she added.
The couple married in Udaipur, Rajasthan, in January 2026. Their three-day wedding celebration combined Christian and traditional Hindu ceremonies. (Source: IANS)
