The INDIA New England 2012 Spring Wedding Expo, held on Sunday, April 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Ritz-Carlton Boston, was a massive success with approximately 650 visiting the event over the course of the day. All were treated to the sights, sounds and tastes of the latest in South Asian weddings from 40 vendors showcasing weddings services and goods ranging from food to jewelry to photography to DJ services. The event also featured live music from the House of Bangalore and Din Check, with the wedding décor provided by Alankar Event Planners and Decorators. There were three separate wedding fashion shows, a workshop on wedding planning and logistics, as well as a workshop on fusion weddings. Guests were also treated to a number of raffle prizes from Kay Pee Jewelers Burlington, Khanak’s, Singhar, ShadikeCard.com, Lombardo’s, Dyuti Majumdar Photography, One World Cuisine, Meena’s Kitchen, Choonri Collection, Borrow it Bindaas and Indofashionz. Sponsors included: The Ritz-Carlton Boston, the Mishra Group, Alankar and Boston Sound and Light Co.

When it comes to weddings nothing stirs more excitement than what the bride and groom and the wedding party are wearing, and as such one of the highlights of the INDIA New England 2012 Spring Wedding Expo, was three fashion shows displaying some of the very latest trends in wedding attire. From traditional to fusion, all was showcases as a number of stunning models walked the runway and thrilled the wedding expo crowd, who packed it in around the runway and treated the catwalk to continuous cheers and the flashing of cameras. The fashion shows were mastermind by three area fashion specialists: Khanak’s, Choonri Collection and Indofashionz.
