Shah Campaign Tops $1 Million in Six Months, Enters Final Stretch of Primary with Strong Cash Position

Maine Gubernatorial candidate reports $600,000 on hand, broad donor support, and early ad rollout as race intensifies

BRUNSWICK, Maine — The campaign of Nirav Shah announced it has raised more than $1 million in the six months since launching, including over $500,000 in its most recent reporting period, as the Democratic primary enters its final seven weeks.

According to the campaign, it currently holds more than $600,000 in cash on hand, positioning it to expand voter outreach efforts as paid media activity increases across the state.

The fundraising total includes contributions from 2,831 individual donors, with support reported from all 16 counties in Maine. Campaign officials said nearly 80 percent of those contributions came from in-state donors, reflecting what they describe as broad grassroots backing.

“This campaign has always been about Mainers, and this milestone is proof of what’s possible when you build something from the ground up,” Shah said in a statement. “I’m grateful to the thousands of supporters who have stepped up and helped power this effort.”

The campaign’s financial update comes as publicly released polling in the race has shown Shah leading the Democratic field, though the primary contest remains ongoing.

With the election approaching, the campaign has begun its first television advertising push, launching a spot titled “Driveways” with a six-figure media buy across broadcast and cable markets in Portland and Bangor.

Since entering the race, Shah has emphasized direct voter engagement, hosting 22 public town halls across the state and taking unscreened questions from residents. The campaign reports it has built a volunteer network of more than 750 people and established a statewide organizing effort.

Shah has also received endorsements from figures including Carl Sheline, as well as organizations such as 314 Action and IMPACT.

In addition, the campaign has released policy proposals addressing healthcare, affordability, education, and issues affecting older residents, along with positions on reproductive rights and federal policy impacts on the state.

As the primary campaign enters its final weeks, Shah said the focus will remain on expanding outreach and communicating directly with voters across Maine.
