LEXINGTON, MA—You must have heard about seven deadly sins. Now, you can watch it though Indian classical dance on Sunday, Oct. 6, at Scottish Rite Masonic Museum in Lexington, MA.

Sapta: Encore is produced by Triveni Ensemble and directed by Neena Gulati of Brookline, MA.

In addition to vignettes of gluttony, sloth, and lust “You’ll see the other five deadly sins, as well as our power-packed finale with a live collaboration with world-jazz group Natraj, next Sunday, October 6,” organizers said in a release.

“With just one step, an otherwise ordinary emotion can stray into dangerous territory. Admiration turns to Lust. Impatience turns to Wrath. Fulfillment to Greed. What in the end will win, human virtue or sin? The answer may not be so simple…,” say organizers.

A cross-cultural exploration between art and philosophy, Sapta: Encore fuses Indian classical dance with the Western concept of the seven deadly sins.

This project is made possible by a Live Arts Grant from The Boston Foundation.
