Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and His Sons to Perform Live in Concert at MIT’s Kresge Auditorium on June 24

CAMBRIDGE, MA— Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and his sons, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayan Ali Bangash, will perform live in concert on June 24 at MIT’s Kresge Auditorium in Cambridge, MA. The music conference is part of the 3rd International Conference on Integrative Medicine, Yoga and Ayurveda.

Organized by Indo-US Health Initiatives, the Integrative Medicine Conference will be held on June 22-24 at Harvard Medical School. Admission fee for music concert by Maestro Amjad Ali Khan are: music lover: $25; benefactor: $50; patron: $75; and sponsor: $100.

Admission fee for full-time school /college students with an ID and children above 6 accompanied by a parent is $10. The concert is supported by LearnQuest Academy of Music and MITHAS.

The concert is the finale at the concluding event of the Integrative Medicine conference: An Evening with Scientists, Celebrities and Sarod Maestro Amjad Ali Khan.

“It is a great opportunity for music lovers to listen to a legendary Indian classical musician. He will be accompanied by his sons Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayan Ali Bangash on the Sarod,” LeranQuest Academy of Music said in a statement.

Maestro Khan will be accompanied on the Tabla by Amit Kavthekar, a disciple of the late Tabla Maestro Ustad Allarakha, and Ishan Ghosh, a brilliant young tabla player from Mumbai who is the son of well-known Sitar and Tabla player Pandit Nayan Ghosh.

Amjad Ali Khan is one of the undisputed masters of the music world. Over the course of a distinguished career spanning more than six decades, he has won numerous accolades, including a Grammy nomination, the Crystal Award by the World Economic Forum, Unicef’s National Ambassadorship and the Fukuoka Cultural grand prize. He has performed at venues the world over, including Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall, as well as at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 2014 in Oslo, Norway.
