CLEVELAND– Republican Hindu Council Head Shalabh Kumar has announced to raise $2 million for the Trump Victory Fund to support Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Chicago-based Kumar told a group of Indian reporters that he also plans to hold a mega rally with an estimated 50,000 people in support of Trump, according to media reports. He said that he and his family have already donated $1.1 million to the Trump Campaign.
“The Kumar family in total would contribute $2 million for the Trump Campaign and the Republican Party. It is in the best interest of the India US relationship that I have decided to work for the victory of Trump in the November general elections,” Kumar was quoted as saying by Press Trust of India.
Kumar said he is planning to hold a mega rally sometime in September in the Tri-State area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut to showcase the support of Indian Americans for Trump.
Next week, Kumar plans to travel to India to invite some of the popular Bollywood stars for the Trump rally, according to media reports.
“I want to invite Amitabh Bachchhan and Priyanka Chopra for the rally,” he said as quoted by PTI.
Kumar, Chairman and CEO of AVG Advanced Technologies, holds multiple patents in electronics. He is the Founder and Chairman of National Indian American Public Policy Institute (NIAAPI). Influenced and inspired by the Republican Jewish Coalition, Kumar has just recently pair ed together with former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, to launch Republican Hindu Coalition, according to his website.
