BURLINGTON, MA– INDIA New England News announced the return of nutritionist and dietician Sangeeta Pradhan, M. Ed, RD, LDN, CDCES, to speak at the 9th annual Health, Fitness & Wellness Expo, discussing how timing and restriction can greatly impact a person’s health.
“Intermittent fasting (IF) as a “dietary approach” remains all the rage today several years after it was touted by mainstream media. But is it truly all it claims to be? Does scientific evidence support its effectiveness? Or is it just another passing fad?” asks Pradhan.
After providing some context to the audience on healthy meal planning, and the role of macro-nutrients at the Expo, Pradhan will do a deep dive into the science behind IF, the various types of fasting regimens and how they compare with the traditional calorie reduction methods of weight loss. She will also discuss the body’s natural circadian rhythms and how the time restricted feeding (16/8) regimen, along with the timing of food (not just quantity and quality) can profoundly impact our weight, hormones, glucose levels and other health markers.
A sample Indian meal plan will be discussed at the end of the talk with guidelines to prevent metabolic disease such as diabetes and the like.
Pradhan is the Diabetes Program Coordinator at Charles River Medical Associates while also serving as the President of Massachusetts Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is a highly coveted public speaker, speaking at professional and community organizations such as the state level annual conference of the Massachusetts Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for the last several years.
