Neil Sherring Sworn in as a Circuit Judge of Massachusetts Housing Court

BOSTON– Neil Sherring on Wednesday was sworn in as a Judge of the Massachusetts Housing Court. He was sworn in by Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito who administered the oath of the office at State House.

The Housing Court is part of the Massachusetts Trial Court.

On May 23, 2018, Mr. Sherring appeared before the Governor’s Council for a Confirmation Hearing on his appointment by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker. The Governor’s Council held a hearing and vote on May 30, 2018 and confirmed Mr. Sherring’s nomination as a Massachusetts Housing Court Circuit Judge.

Mr. Sherring is the first Indian American to serve as a judge in the Massachusetts Housing Court. Her served as partner at the law firm of Dakoyannis & Sherring, LLC where he represented clients in all stages of civil litigation in state and federal courts.  Prior to that, he worked as Litigation Associate at the Boston law firm of Mintz Levin and as an Assistant Attorney General at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office

He holds Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk University Law School.
