BOSTON—Massachusetts is celebrating the third International Day of Yoga in a big way this year, and at four locations: Acton, Burlington, Chelmsford and the Boston financial district, organizers said in a statement. The United Nations declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga three years ago.

“The International Day of Yoga is unique for many reasons,” said Dhanashree Ramachandran, a yoga and meditation instructor in New England. “It is a great opportunity for yoga lovers and enthusiasts in Massachusetts to practice yoga with other yogis under the guidance of experienced instructors from various traditions.”

All events are FREE and open to all, said Ramachandran.

Many local community organizations including the Art of Living, Indian Americans for Burlington, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, International Association for Human Values and Sewa International are coming together in Massachusetts to celebrate the International Day of Yoga at several locations across the state.

Proposed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the International Day of Yoga is one of a kind resolution to be co-sponsored by 175 countries, including the United States, at the United Nations General Assembly. It is an initiative that brings people from all backgrounds and nationalities together to celebrate peace, health and togetherness.
