INE Wedding Expo Kicks of 2016 Wedding Season

BURLINGTON, MA—With over 45 vendors and a number of fashion shows, dances and wedding rituals, INDIA New England News Spring Wedding Expo kicked off the 2016 wedding season on Sunday at Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA. (Photos: Rasik Mehta)

“I am dazzled by the talent in our community as it was displayed elegantly and magnificently at the Spring Wedding Expo,” said Dr. Manju Sheth, MD, hostess of the expo. “We are also eternally grateful for the support from the community. This year the shows were best ever.”

The 8th Annual Wedding Expo Spring 2016 is sponsored by Burlington Marriott Hotel, Alankar Event Planners & Decorators and Boston Sound and Light Co. The expo was organized and produced by INDIA New England News, the region’s oldest and largest print, online and video magazine.

Here are summary of items presented at the Wedding Expo:

Jasmine Shah, founder and director of Aangikam Dance Academy, and her 35 students portrayed Indian wedding traditions and rituals through several dances at the Expo.

20160306_123939_resizedAalok Fashions presented a wedding-themed fashion show suitably named “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.” This wedding themed show, which displayed Indian wedding outfits not only for Indian brides and grooms but also for guests attending these celebrations, was produced by Pushpa Karna and choreographed Dr. Seema Arora, MD.

A dazzling jewelry fashion show by Syna’s Collection dazzled the audience. It was produced by Syna’s Collection founder Twinkle Morbia Gautam and choreographed by local TV Asia reporter Jharna Madan.

Jewels N More by Shibani presented an unique hybrid fashion show that combined clothing and jewelry.

A cast of three friends–Vasudha Kudrimoti, Sirivalli Konduri and Kali Priya — performed Marathi folklore dance Lavai.

Also returned this year was a dance by Nikita Rao and her team from Bollywood Dance Academy. The newcomer this year was the Punjabi Divas team, which included Kiran Lampert, Sumeet Lampert, Gia Kaur and Pawen Preet Kaur, who performed Ghaint Bhangra. Kids from the Academy of Creative Arts performing a dance that showed phases before getting married in a fun and musical way.
