INDIA New England News: What does love mean to you?
Praveen Misra: If we look in Bollywood context, love is defined as a grand dramatic quest that involves running around trees. dancing in the rain, surviving at least three misunderstandings, and disapproving parents before the interval. And then the magical force that perfectly bonds the families together as you break into synchronize dance sequence sometime with perfect stranger to celebrate power of love to resolve the life’s biggest challenges.
That is how I define love.
INE: In the context of giving or receiving love, some say love can only be given. Do you agree or not and why?
PM: I would say its two-way transaction. It needs three pillars: mutual trust, respect and care.
INE: If you must choose between love and trust, what would you choose and why?
PM: I would take the first letter (L) of first word and last three of second word (UST) and make it (lust) an essential ingredient of the relationship. Both are two sides of a coin, and need to co-exist.
INE: What is the lifespan of romantic love?
PM: Eternal. It does not/should not come with an expiry date.
INE: Do you still believe in love the way you had imagined when you were a teenager or in your early 20s?
PM: I do. It is like an old wine. It gets better with age and adds more flavor.
INE: Does marriage change the equation of love and why?
PM: Marriage can indeed change the dynamics of a relationship in various ways. It does have potential to bring two people more closer in terms of emotional dependencies, respect and care.
INE: What is the secret of romantic marriage?
PM: It might vary for everyone. For us, we enjoy each other’s company. Its extremely difficult for me to go anywhere (except professional commitment) without Ruchi. We enjoy spending time together.
