IMANE to Host its Annual CME Series on May 13 Focusing on Updates in Specialty Care

WALTHAM, MA–The Indian Medical Association of New England, one of the oldest organization of physicians of Indian origin in the United States, will host its annual Continuing Medical Education series on May 13 at Massachusetts Medical Society in Waltham, MA.

“This year, we are featuring speakers from both younger and more established cores on topics relevant to all of us with ‘Updates in Specialty Care,’” Indian Medical Association of New England, known as IMANE, said in a statement.

The event will be held from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm at Massachusetts Medical Society, located in the Waltham Woods Conference Center at 860 Winter Street in Waltham, MA.

“This is going to be an information filled event for our healthcare community,” said IMANE President Sameer O. Kapasi. “We have both local and national medical celebrities presenting their specialties.  Through these lectures, we will appeal to a broader audience who are concerned with the future of healthcare and how to promote improved relations with patients.”

Here are some of the topics and speakers:

Shruti Sonni, MD, the co-chair of the stroke committee at the Cambridge Health Alliance, will speak on “Updates in Stroke Management.”

Jay Gupta, RPh, MS, the Director of Pharmacy and Integrative Health at Harbor Homes, will speak on “Polypharmacy and Yoga.”

Paul Mathew, MD, an Associate Professor at the Tufts University School of Medicine, will talk about “Progress across the cancer landscape in 2017: Vignettes from Genitourinary tumors.”

Arshiya Seth, MD of the Cambridge Health Alliance will speak on “Patient Experience of Care and Staff Experience of Care.”

The meeting will include a lunch provided by Gourmet India. During the lunch, Dr. Paul G. Mathew, MD, FAHS, the Director of Continuing Medical Education at the Brigham and Women’s  Hospital will talk about “MOC: Reform or Reboot?” Dr. Mathew has lectured around the country and has become a champion on Maintenance of Certification, known as MOC.
