Marking the anniversary, the actress shared scenes from the 2016 film on her Instagram Stories, simply writing, “10 years of Neerja.” The film, directed by Ram Madhvani, starred Sonam as flight attendant Neerja Bhanot and earned widespread critical acclaim for its emotional storytelling and restrained performances.

Based on the real-life hijacking of Pan Am Flight 73 in Karachi in 1986, Neerja was told from Bhanot’s point of view. She famously alerted the pilots, grounding the aircraft, and later died while shielding passengers and crew from gunfire. Of the 379 people on board, 359 survived the attack.

Krystle D’Souza Breaks Silence on ‘Shararat’ Song Casting Buzz

MUMBAI, India — Actress Krystle D’Souza has reacted to reports claiming Tamannaah Bhatia was originally considered for the song Shararat from Dhurandhar before Krystle and Ayesha Khan came on board, saying she was completely unaware of any such development.

Krystle D’Souza

Speaking exclusively, Krystle said the speculation took her by surprise but had nothing but praise for Tamannaah. “I had no idea about all this. But Tamannaah is amazing. She is beautiful and so good at what she does. More power to her. Whatever is written in someone’s fate, they get it,” she said.

Addressing how she landed the song, Krystle said she believes things fall into place naturally. “I feel it was in my fate, it was in Ayesha’s fate, and we got it. But that doesn’t take away from how beautiful Tamannaah is and what a great performer she is. Maybe she would have added her own spunk to the song. She brings her own aura and her own limelight, and that’s beautiful.”

Krystle also stressed the importance of women uplifting one another in the industry. “Every woman who is doing well makes me proud. I would love to see more women doing amazing, crazy performances and supporting each other,” she said.

Released in December 2025, Dhurandhar featured a star-studded cast and drew attention not just for its performances but also for its music, with Shararat quickly becoming one of the film’s most talked-about tracks. (Source: IANS)
