Clothing
A beautiful outfit is the centerpiece of every look, with long, elegant kurtis and lehengas as the trend to watch this holiday season. “Poncho-style lehngas are especially popular,” said Karna
“And of course, saris are always in style”. Bright colors such as cobalt blue and garnet red shimmer this season, which will catch the eye in any room.
Jewelry
“Big, bold pieces are in style this season, in both real metals and costume jewelry,” said Karna. But don’t go too wild with the bangles and necklaces! The purpose of jewelry is to accentuate the outfit worn, so it is always important to make sure that your jewelry matches the outfit you want to wear.
Beauty and Makeup
“It is important to lay a good foundation for your look before you put on any makeup at all,” said Karna. Making sure your skin is healthy and clean before you apply makeup can protect your skin from unsightly blemishes and adds a healthy glow to any look. Use environmentally-friendly, all-natural skincare products to reduce the risk of redness, irritation and breakouts caused by chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulfate and parabens.
“For shaping the eyebrows, I would recommend threading,” said Karna. “Threading can provide more precise control in shaping eyebrows, and is gentler on the skin than methods such as waxing.” In threading, a cotton or polyester thread is doubled, then twisted. It is then rolled over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where the hairs are plucked out one at a time, threading can remove short lines of hair all at once.
