Din Check’s Jolly Bhatia Mimics Bollywood Stars, Open House on Friday

WALTHAM, MA–Jolly Bhatia is an artist trapped in a scientist’s body, who looks for creativity in all aspects of life. In 2011, Bhatia, along with Sam Bhambani and Sam Rao, founded the popular Massachusetts-based Bollywood band Din Check.

More recently, in the Siraj Khan and Dancing Divas production “Mona Darling”, Bhatia was presented in a completely different avatar of the famous yesteryears villain Ajit.

On Friday, Dec. 16, Bhatia and his Din Check band will host an open house for an evening of live Bollywood music with wine and cheese at Pinot’s Palette in Lexington Center located at 7A Meriam St. in Lexington, MA. Everyone is welcome from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

Din Check is New England’s premier Bollywood band, started in a basement in suburban Massachusetts in 2011, by Bhatia, Rao and Bhambani trio. The band has been entertaining the South Asian sub-continent population for over five years now and has performed at various public and private functions, festivals, restaurants, wedding expos, award shows, and outdoors events.

The band has a full ensemble of vocalists, guitarists, drummers, pianists, and a violinist, and is popular for its high energy shows. Touching upon all genres, popular singers, and eras, the band appeals to people of all ages.

Bhatia has a Masters degree in Manufacturing Pharmacy and is a Senior Director at the Cambridge, MA-based biotech company Alnylam, involved in developing gene silencing based medicines. During the day Bhatia is developing Manufacturing and Supply Chain strategies to bring quality novel therapies to patients and by night he is a loving father to two young boys – Neel and Nakul, who are an important part of his inspiration for life.
