Coastline Wrapping of TiE Vancouver Bags First Prize in TYE Global Competition; Second and Third Prizes Go to TiE Oregon and TiE Silicon Valley

BOSTON–Coastline Wrapping of TiE Vancouver won the first prize in the 10th annual global competition of TiE Young Entrepreneurs, known as TYE. The international competition, in which 28 teams from around the world participated, was held in Boston this weekend.

The first prize winning team received $4,000. The second and third prizes went to Mediscan of TiE Oregon and TiE Silicon Valley, respectively. The second and third place winners received $2,000 and $1,000 each.

“The TYE Global student teams continue to astonish with the innovative ideas and polished presentations,” said Vinit Nijhawan, TYE Global 2019 Chair. “When we conceived and launched TYE at TiE Boston 15 years ago, I never imagined the global impact it would have.”

TYE fosters future generation of entrepreneurs and teaches entrepreneurship to high school students and helping them discover the rewards and challenges of becoming an entrepreneur. During the program, the students form teams, go through classroom session modules focused on different aspects of business and entrepreneurship, then write their own business plans.

Teams compete at the chapter level Finals first and the winner of each chapter goes on to the Global Competition to compete for $10,000 in cash prizes.

TiE Global is a non-profit organization committed to promoting entrepreneurship globally through mentoring, networking and education. TiE, a global network of entrepreneurs and professionals, was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley, California, USA, with roots in the Indus region.
