BOSTON–India Association of Greater Boston, known as IAGB, announced that Boston Red Sox has partnered with IAGB to bring ‘India Celebration’ to Boston’s historic Fenway.
IAGB President Vaishali Gade said: “We are proud to have an opportunity to showcase our Indian Pride at Fenway Park on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023, for the ball game against KC Royals. So, join us for unique cultural entertainment on Jersey City Street and the game. Show your Indian pride at Fenway Park for our India Celebration”.
For the last 60 years, Indian Americans have come together through IAGB in search of assimilation and integration into the larger Boston community. Now is the time to commemorate the Indian American community’s oneness with the Red Sox Nation.
“Let’s join hands at the ‘Friendly Fenway,’ dance to some captivating Indian music/tunes, and sing ‘Dirty Water / Tessie’ together!,” IAGB said in a statement.
Celebration on Jersey street will showcase the finest of New England performers. For the first time Fenway goers will experience the not one but two percussion instruments performances, one from Boston Vaadya Kala Sangam ‘ Panchari Melam’ an art form from Kerala and an enthralling, rhythmic art form from Maharashtra ‘Dhol Tasha’ presented by NEMM Josh. And lastly to tie it all together, there will be a captivating dance performance by DFD Academy.
