Sonu Sood meets viral Hyderabadi food stall owner Kumari Aunty

Mumbai– Actor Sonu Sood, who is gearing up for his upcoming film ‘Fateh’, recently visited Dasari Sai Kumari, popularly known as Kumari Aunty on social media, at her roadside food stall in the Madhapur area of Hyderabad.

Kumari Aunty gained fame on social media for running a food stall offering a variety of non-vegetarian delicacies.

Sonu took to social media and shared a video from their meeting, captioning it, “You are your only limit. Kumari aunty is a testament to the quiet strength and fierce resilience that resides in each woman. Let us support, celebrate, uplift, and empower these bearers of boundless strength by our words and actions.”

In the video, Sonu praised her, saying, “She is a self-made lady. When we talk about women empowerment, we talk about how everyone should work hard for families, and Kumari aunty is the best example.”

On the work front, Sonu will next be seen in ‘Fateh’, a cybercrime thriller featuring Naseeruddin Shah and Jacqueliene Fernandez.

The film, blending action with suspense, is scheduled to release in theatres later this year.

Akshay Kumar offers help to elderly woman boarding her first flight on ‘Sarfira’ set

Mumbai– The makers of Akshay Kumar-starrer upcoming film ‘Sarfira’ on Friday released a behind-the-sets (BTS) video from the shoot of the movie, wherein we can see the ‘Khiladi’ of Bollywood lending a helping hand to a senior lady, who was boarding her first-ever flight.

A recent video from the sets of ‘Sarfira’ is melting hearts across the internet. With grace and kindness, the video shows Akshay taking away the heavy bag from her and offering assistance during her scene.

The video captures Akshay speaking to the lady in fluent Marathi, creating a moment of genuine warmth and connection. The senior lady’s heartfelt blessing towards the end of the clip is evidence of the impact of Akshay’s kindness off-camera.

‘Sarfira’ is inspired by the life of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath, who revolutionised air travel in India by making it affordable for the common man.

Akshay plays Vir Jagannath Mhatre, the son of a teacher in rural Maharashtra, who embarks on an ambitious mission to democratise air travel, challenging socio-economic barriers and embodying the spirit of modern India’s entrepreneurial rise.

The movie stars Radhikka Madan, alongside Akshay.

‘Sarfira’ not only tells an inspiring story but also involves real-life locals from small towns, who experienced their first flight during the making of the film.

The makers also recently released a new track from the movie titled ‘Chaawat’, which captures the joyous spirit of a traditional Maharashtrian wedding.

The Maharashtrian-themed song is penned by Manoj Muntashir Shukla and is composed by G.V Prakash Kumar. It is sung by Shreya Ghoshal.

Written by Sudha and Shalini Ushadevi, with dialogues by Pooja Tolani, and a G.V. Prakash Kumar musical, ‘Sarfira’ is produced by Aruna Bhatia (Cape of Good Films), South superstars Suriya and Jyotika (2D Entertainment) and Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment).

The movie is set to release in theatres on July 12.

Sanya Malhotra, Varun Dhawan bond over cup of tea on set of ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’

Mumbai– Actors Varun Dhawan and Sanya Malhotra, who are co-starring in the upcoming film ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’, shared a delightful moment over a cup of tea on the movie’s set.

Varun took to his Instagram stories and shared a behind-the-scenes (BTS) picture from the sets of Dharma Productions’ venture.

In the photo, the actor is seen holding a cup of tea.

Varun thanked Sanya for the “chai patti”, writing in the caption, “Thank you Sanya Malhotra for the chai patti.”

Sanya reshared the post on her Instagram stories, revealing that Varun was enjoying her favourite matcha tea, which she has often spoken about.

The actress wrote: “You’re welcome, VD.”

The movie stars Janhvi Kapoor alongside Varun and is directed by Shashank Khaitan.

Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank, the film also features Rohit Saraf and Akshay Oberoi in key roles.

‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ is set to release in theaters on April 18, 2025.

In addition to ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’, Sanya is awaiting the theatrical release of ‘Mrs’ and also has ‘Thug Life’ in the pipeline.

She was last seen in ‘Sam Bahadur’, a biographical war drama based on the life of India’s first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw, directed by Meghna Gulzar and starring Vicky Kaushal in the titular role, alongside Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neeraj Kabi, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.

She also appeared in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer action thriller ‘Jawan’.

On the other hand, Varun has an action drama ‘Baby John’ in his kitty. Directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, Murad Khetani, and Jyoti Deshpande under Jio Studios, Cine1 Studios, and A for Apple Productions, the movie also stars Sanya in a pivotal role.

Shilpa Shetty’s emotional b’day wish for Geeta Kapur: ‘Mai uska saath kabhi nahi chhodungi’

Mumbai– Actress Shilpa Shetty shared an emotional video on Friday, extending birthday wishes to choreographer Geeta Kapur on her 51st birthday, saying, ‘mai uska saath kabhi nahi chodhungi’ (I will never leave her).

Taking to Instagram stories, Shilpa, who has 32.3 million followers on Instagram, posted a video from the set of a show.

In the video, the ‘Baazigar’ actress expressed, “Geeta ko pata hai mai uska sath kabhi nahi chodhungi. Aur wo bole ya nahi bole mujhe pata hai wo mera sath nahi chodhegi. Behan love you..” (Geeta knows that I will never leave her. And whether she speaks or not, I know she will not leave me. I love you.)

Shilpa also penned a heartfelt note for Geeta, saying: “Happy birthday Geets… Wishing you a world full of happiness! Sending you lots of love, warm hugs, and endless blessings of great health always!”

Shilpa and Geeta have shared screen space as judges on the dance reality show ‘Super Dancer’ for four consecutive seasons.

Geeta Kapur began her career at the age of 17, joining the troupe of Bollywood choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan. She later assisted Farah in films like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’, ‘Mohabbatein’, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, ‘Main Hoon Na’, and ‘Om Shanti Om’.

She has choreographed for numerous Bollywood films, including ‘Fiza’, ‘Asoka’, ‘Saathiya’, ‘Heyy Babyy’, ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’, ‘Aladin’, and ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ from ‘Tees Maar Khan’, among others.

Kapur made her television debut with the reality show ‘Dance India Dance 1’ in 2008, alongside co-judges Terrence Lewis and Remo D’Souza.

Meanwhile, Shilpa recently appeared as Tara in ‘Indian Police Force’, created and directed by Rohit Shetty and Sushwanth Prakash. The series stars Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi.

Her upcoming project includes ‘KD’.
