Sonam to meet Anuja Chauhan for ‘The Zoya Factor’

Mumbai– Actress Sonam Kapoor, who will be portraying the character of Zoya Solanki from the novel “The Zoya Factor”, will be meeting the author Anuja Chauhan to prep for the role.

Sonam says she is looking forward to meeting Chauhan to discuss the character.

“I’ve read the book and absolutely love it. Anuja Chauhan has lived with the character and the book for so long and knows it better than anyone else. I look forward to meeting her soon to discuss Zoya before we start shooting for the film,” Sonam said in a statement.

The story revolves around Zoya Singh Solanki who meets the Indian Cricket Team through her job as an executive in an advertising agency and ends up becoming a lucky charm for the team at the Cricket World Cup.

“Sonam wants to well prepare for her role in the film , a romantic comedy that touches upon superstition and luck. She is keen on understanding the story and her character in detail from Anuja Chauhan. Since Chauhan has penned the book , Sonam thought it best to meet her and discuss the book as part of her prep,” said a source.

Other details about the film are still under wraps.

Ajay Devgn is a massive family man: Ileana D’Cruz

New Delhi– Actress Ileana D’Cruz says her “Raid” co-star actor Ajay Devgn is a massive family and is obsessed with his children — Nysa and Yug.

Talking about Ajay, Ileana told IANS: “He is a very easy going person. When you are working with actors who are secure, who have nothing really to prove, it gets a lot easier working with them. You don’t have to deal with insecurities of any sort and Ajay is that kind of person.”

Ileana said that Ajay is “incredibily decent”.

“He’s a massive family man. he’s obsessed with his kids, which is very lovely. He’s really a positive person. When you are working with like minded people then there are no pretences. So, it’s nice working with him,” she added.

“Raid”, based on a true story about money laundering, is directed by Rajkumar Gupta.

Kriti wants to work with Tiger Shroff again

Mumbai– Actress Kriti Sanon, who made her debut opposite Tiger Shroff in “Heropanti”, says she is proud of him and wants to work with him again.

“Heropanti”, which released in 2014, introduced Tiger as well as Kriti.

Asked whether she wishes to be part of “Baaghi 3”, she said: “I am really not a person you should ask but I definitely want to work with Tiger again as it has been quite a long gap… There should be something made like ‘Heropanti 2’.”

The actress also praised Tiger for his latest project “Baaghi 2”.

“We both made a debut together in a film, so somewhere there is a soft corner which will always be like that. I am really proud of him because he is just going next level with every film,” Kriti told the media at a special screening of “Baaghi 2” on Thursday here.

On the work front, Kriti will be working on “Houseful 4”.

She says she is excited to join the “Housefull 4” team, including actors Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Riteish Deshmukh.

“It is a huge franchise and I love comedy films. I think it’s very difficult to make people laugh. I love being part of comedies because you make people laugh and at the same time, you also enjoy while doing it,” she said.

Been wanting to work with Prithviraj for 6 years: Isha Talwar

Mumbai– Actress Isha Talwar, who will soon be seen in Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Malayalam film “Ranam”, says she had been wanting to work with the actor for six years, since the time she entered the film industry.

“When I got the first call to do ‘Ranam’, I thought people were playing a prank on me because the call came from America. But then Prithviraj messaged and said we would like you to play a part in the film,” said Isha in a statement.

“I have been wanting to work with Prithviraj for six years now, ever since I got here. He is also an actor who shuttles between industries as well, and I was totally looking forward to working with him. So it was cool working with the heartthrob from Malayalam cinema. I am glad I’ve ticked this off the list,” added the actress, who has also worked in Salman Khan-starrer “Tubelight”.

“Ranam” is scheduled to release on April 13 and is directed by Nirmal Sahadev.

Amitabh honoured to work with Chiranjeevi

Hyderabad– Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says he is honoured to work with superstar Chiranjeevi for “Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy”.

Amitabh, who will be making a guest appearance in the project, shared a glimpse from the film’s set.

“‘Syeera! Narasimha Reddy’, the joy and honour of working with Chiranjeevi Garu! (Working with megastar is respect),” Amitabh captioned the image.

The cine icon, 75, is here to shoot for the film, being directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Ram Charan.

It will be based on the life of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Double Oscar-winning A.R. Rahman has been roped in to compose the music.

In the Hindi film industry, Amitabh will soon be seen in “102 Not Out” along with veteran actor Rishi Kapoor.

Varun Dhawan sympathetic of Australian cricketer Steve Smith

Mumbai– Actor Varun Dhawan has sympathized over Australian cricketer Steve Smith, who has been banned for a year by the Cricket Australia over ball-tampering.

Varun on Thursday night tweeted a photograph of Smith and captioned: “Watching Steven Smith apologise and look broken is very sad. I’m sure the fans will forgive him. He looks beyond remorseful. I hope and pray he will come out of this ordeal a better cricketer. The mental the emotional trauma I’m sure is bigger then any ban.”

Smith stepped down as Australia captain for the remainder of the ongoing third Test against South Africa and was penalised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on March 25 in the wake of the ball-tampering controversy.

Smith’s deputy David Warner also stepped down as vice-captain. Wicketkeeper Tim Paine acted as captain at Newlands, with both Smith and Warner taking the field on March 25.

Richa Chadha wonders if there is feminism wave in Bollywood

New Delhi– Actress Richa Chadha says a true feminism wave will arrive in Bollywood when better roles will be written for women.

“Actresses are speaking up, which is a good thing because actresses are speaking up more than actors. But I don’t know whether there is a feminism wave in Bollywood (or not),” Richa told IANS.

“It will truly be amazing if better parts are written for women and better films are made with women and those films make money at the box office. Then we can truly say that it has arrived,” she added.

Richa has established a permanent place in Bollywood through non-conventional roles from portraying a hot-headed don in “Fukrey” to a small-town girl fighting taboos around sex in “Masaan”.

In fact, Richa is proud of her role as Bholi Punjaban in the “Fukrey” franchise. The second part of the franchise “Fukrey Returns”, which will premiere on the Indian small screen on Sunday on Zee Cinema, was also a hit.

“The role helped me connect to a wider commercial audience. It was a good decision to do it. It is not an easy or a stereotypical character to play.

“It was the character a lot of people may or may not do especially in Bollywood because it is very risky…Taking the role was a calculated risk. I am happy,” she said.

Richa is hoping for the third part of the “Fukrey” franchise.

“Third movie will happen, but director only knows when and what will the story,” she said.

Shooting for ‘Kishore Kumar Junior’ wrapped up

Kolkata– The shooting of filmmaker Kaushik Ganguly’s movie “Kishore Kumar Junior” has concluded.

The film’s actor Prosenjit Chatterjee on Friday took to Twitter to share a photograph of himself along with the cast and crew of the film.

“Thanks team ‘Kishore Kumar Junior’ and finally we wrapped our shoot. Though it was a hectic shoot but actors and technicians made it happen with their courage..under Kaushik Ganguly’s leadership. Love you all,” Prosenjit wrote alongside the image.

Ganguly’s film is reportedly a tribute to legendary playback singer Kishore Kumar.

Kishore Kumar is known for numbers like “Mehboob qayamat hogi” and “Ek ladki bheegi bhaagi si”.

The director is known for making films like “Rang Milanti”, “Shabdo”, “Apur Panchali” and “Chotoder Chobi”.

I’m hoping Kim Kardashian comes to India soon: Adajania

Mumbai– Kim Kardashian West has expressed her desire to come to India with her reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”. And designer Anaita Shroff Adajania wishes the global icon comes to the country soon.

Adajania styled Kim for the cover of Vogue India for its March 2018 issue. She says Kim is a down to earth and a lovely person.

Adajania talked about her experience of styling the star when she became part of the TV show “Vh1 Inside Access”, read a statement from the channel.

“Kim is just fantastic, she is such a down to earth and lovely person. She had no entourage and she even apologised for being 10 minutes late. She is such a team player,” Adajania said.

“I’m hoping she comes to India soon,” she added.

In the cover story of the magazine, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star had also expressed her love for the ‘desi’ attire and Indian jewellery.

“The saris, the jewellery, the clothes — everything was so beautiful,” Kim said. “I told my show that we have to figure out how to get to India,” she added.

Giving a twist to the storyline, a special wedding sequence on the Colors’ show will have the characters Aarohi and Deep renewing their vows.

Talking about wedding vows, Alisha said: “Marriage isn’t just the union of two people, it is beyond that. And wedding vows are way more than just a promise. It is a lifetime commitment that forms the foundation of your marriage. According to me, an ideal man is the one who respects and values his lady. And my ideal man is my father”. (IANS)
