SRK scores 32 mn Twitter followers
Mumbai– Shah Rukh Khan’s social media on Twitter has extended to 32 million.
Shah Rukh on Tuesday tweeted: “Naye saal ki sabko shubh kamnayein. Sab raho khush aur aabaad aur 32 million ke liye bahut bahut dhanyawaad. Waah Hindi main likha toh kuch kavi sa hogaya. (Good wishes to all for the New Year. Please stay happy and thank you for the 32 million. Written in Hindi, so became like a poet.)”
The 52-year-old superstar, who has a following of 32.2 million, is right behind megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has a Twitter following of 32.4 million. Shah Rukh if Bollywood’s Khan with the most number of followers on Twitter — Salman has 29.9 million and Aamir has 22.6 million.
Shah Rukh is an avid user of digital platforms uses social media to update fans and followers about his life and projects. On the first day of the New Year on Monday, he unveiled the title and teaser of his upcoming film with Aanand L Rai.
In the film titled “Zero”, Shah Rukh will be seen playing a dwarf. It also stars actresses Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif.
“Zero” is slated to hit the screens on December 21.
I love when people ‘stalk’ me: Priyanka Chopra
Mumbai– Actress Priyanka Chopra says she doesnt mind being stalked on social media.
Priyanka will be seen as a guest judge on the upcoming talent-based show “India’s Next Superstars”, which will feature filmmakers Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar.
One contestant told Priyanka that she was her biggest inspiration and she regularly stalked her on Instagram.
Priyanka responded: “I’m impressed that you know so much about me. I love when people stalk me on Instagram as I, myself, check how many people have checked my stories and posts.”
“India’s Next Superstars” will be soon aired on Star Plus.
KJo pens love note for Janhvi, Ishaan
Mumbai, Jan 2– Filmmaker Karan Johar has penned a love note for Sridevis daughter Janhvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter as the two newcomers look forward to make their Bollywood debut with “Dhadak”.
Karan is backing the film, an adaptation of the acclaimed Marathi film “Sairat”, through his banner Dharma Productions.
The director read the note on his show “Calling Karan” on 104.8 Ishq FM on Monday, read a statement.
“It’s a new year which means new beginnings and time for new relationship goals… Dear Janhvi and Ishaan, you are going to embark on a new journey of stardom this year. You will face many firsts in 2018 from promotion to paparazzi to link-ups and trolling to fame and failures. You are going to see it all,” Karan wrote.
“Through all of this, I just want to remind you to not take yourself too seriously and absorb every new experience because these initial days will never come back again. Janhvi, Ishaan your best qualities are that you all are still students.
“That you both really stand by your beliefs and the fact that you really don’t take yourself as seriously as I sometimes think you should. I love the fact that you are still vulnerable and innocent, please hold onto that,” he added.
“Dhadak” is scheduled for release in July.
Honest, secular politics is spiritual politics: Rajinikanth
Chennai– Tamil movie superstar Rajinikanth on Tuesday said honest and secular politics is “spiritual politics” and Tamil Nadu, where he wants to bring about major changes, was the land of several revolutions.
After Rajinikanth said he will float a new party and pursue “spiritual politics”, many have commented that he was being fronted by the Bharatiya Janata Party and that “spiritual politics” was nothing but rebranded Hindutuva.
At a meeting with journalists, he said many revolutions have started in Tamil Nadu including Mahatma Gandhi’s decision to to wear only dhoti and a shawl at Madurai in 1921.
The actor declined to comment on the name of his proposed party, saying he himself does not know. The Tamil film icon, who was once a bus conductor, said he had worked as a proof reader too for two months in a monthly magazine.
Meanwhile, sidelined AIADMK leader T.T.V. Dinakaran told reporters here that spirituality was an individual’s choice and bringing that into politics would lead to wrong results. (IANS)
