Suriya’s ‘Vishwanath & Sons’ to Hit Screens on August 14

Chennai– The makers of director Venky Atluri’s much-awaited family entertainer Vishwanath & Sons, starring actor Suriya in the lead role, on Thursday announced that the film will release in theatres worldwide on August 14 this year.

Production house Sithara Entertainments confirmed the release date through its social media handles, sharing an announcement post that read: “Dear Anbaana Fans, here’s our little note to keep the celebrations going. Make way for #VishwanathAndSons. Arriving to conquer cinemas worldwide on AUGUST 14th, 2026. #VASonAUG14th.”

Directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, the film is billed as a wholesome family entertainer blending emotion, humour, and heartfelt storytelling.

The project has already generated strong buzz following the release of its teaser, which introduces Suriya as Sanjay Vishwanath, an international pistol shooter still pursuing his ambitions in his 40s. The actor is seen in a layered role that balances emotional depth with a strong fatherly presence, with the teaser highlighting Venky Atluri’s trademark dialogue-driven storytelling.

Mamitha Baiju also features in the film, bringing a fresh dynamic to the narrative. The teaser hints at an unconventional romantic track involving an age gap, which the makers suggest will be handled with emotional nuance and sensitivity.

The first-look posters showing Suriya alongside a child further reinforced the film’s family-centric tone and struck a chord with audiences.

Following back-to-back successes such as SIR/Vaathi and Lucky Baskhar, Atluri returns with another feel-good entertainer rooted in family values and emotional storytelling.

The cast also includes Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon in key roles.

The technical crew features music by G.V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Nimish Ravi, editing by Navin Nooli, and production design by Banglan. The film will be distributed in Tamil Nadu by Think Studios, ensuring a wide theatrical rollout across the state.
