Jackie Chan an inspiration for Tiger Shroff

Mumbai– Young actor Tiger Shroff says he is very inspired by international action star Jackie Chan, whose Sino-Indian co-production “Kung Fu Yoga” released on Friday.

Tiger, who attended the premiere of the movie here on Thursday, said: “Jackie Chan has been an inspiration for me. However, I feel I am not even one per cent of him. I try to work hard and be creative in action sequences.”

Daisy Shah, Krushna Abhishek and Remo D’souza were among the other celebrities who attended the premiere where the film’s Indian cast members Sonu Sood, Amyra Dastur and Disha Patani were excited about the feedback.

Sonu, 43, said: “For the last one and half years, we’ve been working hard on this film. Now it is the time of release and I am looking forward to knowing the reaction of the audience. As of now, reviews are very nice, so I am hopeful that audience will like the film.”

Amrya said the family entertainer has “nothing bad”, while Disha said: “I’ve done my job and now hoping audience enjoy my performance and get thrilled.”

The action-adventure-comedy film is written and directed by Stanley Tong.

Kiara adds fun to LFW ramp

Actress Kiara Advani made sure she had the audience cheer for her when she walked the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Spring 2017 ramp here for designer Farah Sanjana.

The actress told IANS that this was her second time at the fashion event and she was really excited to be a part of it.

Wearing a moss green and pale white v-necked cropped top paired with a floor-sweeping skirt, Kiara twirled, laughed and even gestured the fashion gala attendees to make some noise during her catwalk.

Sanjana’s ensembles saw leaves, tulips and lilly prints, in shades of mustard and green.

The entire collection was dominated by slitted skirts, crop tops, tankinis, dresses and dresses.

Talking about the showstopper, Sanjana said: “I have got the most fabulous showstopper Kiara Advani…I couldn’t have had a better name.”

Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik plans to campaign for disabled

Kolkata– Inspired by the contributions of the visually challenged to society, actor Hrithik Roshan intends to take the experience of filming “Kaabil” forward by campaigning for the disabled.

The star also hoped the film debunks the stereotypical portrayal of the blind in cinema.

“On my part I will not just stop here. I plan to campaign for the disabled, not only the blind. That is going to be my part of the journey from here,” Hrithik, who plays a blind man in the movie, told the media here on Friday.

The actor, who pledged his eyes on his 43rd birthday, said: “We are the people who are blind to the blind people, to not see what they are contributing to society.”

Asked whether the movie can shatter stereotypes about the blind, the “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai” star admitted that cinema had indeed propagated the “cinematic blind”.

“I hope so (it breaks stereotypes). It is my cinema that has propagated the cinematic blind which is a lie. That’s not how the blind are. Not that the film is about a message, but when you believe characters like this, you know that they (audiences) are aware. The truth is important and without that there can be no progress,” he added.

Priyanka Chopra

Deeply affected by Trump’s immigration ban: Priyanka Chopra

Los Angeles– Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, also Unicef’s global Goodwill Ambassador, says as a global citizen, US President Donald Trump’s recent immigration ban — which she described as a “political witch hunt” — has deeply affected her.

In a blog post on Thursday on the professional networking website LinkedIn, which she joined last year as a LinkedIn Influencer, she wrote: “All of the ‘banned’ countries are places where a lot of Unicef work is going on, where children are suffering the most. What can I add that people across professions and age groups have not already said? But adding your voice will definitely make a difference.

“And make a difference we must. Please join me in making our voice stronger so that globally, our children are not discriminated against on the basis of their religion and do not have to bear the brunt of a political witch hunt.”

Priyanka is currently in the US to shoot the second season of her popular TV show “Quantico”. She divides her time between India and the US.

Protests took place at airports across the US in response to Trump’s recent travel ban preventing entry from seven predominantly Muslim countries.

Shah Rukh Khan

SRK drops his pants when he hears ‘pack-up’

Mumbai–Superstar Shah Rukh Khan says he takes off his lower clothings when he hears “pack-up” while shooting.

In the season finale of “Vh1 Inside Access”, SRK revealed what is the first thing he does as soon as he hears “pack-up”.

He said: “It sounds wrong, I don’t do it like that. I just take the lower part of my clothes off! Because invariably, you know, I don’t like wearing anything else apart from jeans, and when I’m doing films, I am either wearing pants or suits or stuff like that, and I spoil my hair.”

“I don’t like my hair being combed all the time.”

When the host asked him if he was messy and if he threw everything around, the 51-year-old said: “Yes, I do. No, but I don’t even throw them around.”

“I have an amazing team and I am very spoilt and I should not be saying it. I start taking things off, they take it off me and I walk in semi-naked, and change, and I am out.”

The episode will be aired on Sunday on Vh1.
