Abhijeet Sawant Calls Playback Singing for Film Heroes an Exciting Experience

Mumbai — Singer Abhijeet Sawant, who has recorded a song for the upcoming Marathi film “Swapna Sundari,” says lending his voice to film heroes is one of the most exciting parts of playback singing.
Reflecting on his journey from reality television to film music, Sawant said he is grateful to continue working on a range of musical projects.
“My musical journey began with a reality show, and today, this endless journey of music is continuing with diverse projects which makes me extremely happy,” he said in a statement.
He said film songs give singers the chance to express a character’s emotions through their voice.
“Sometimes, you even get to act through a song, and it feels like a bonus point. But the process of a film song is very exciting because I feel it’s the voice you lend to the film’s hero. For me, the experience of doing a cover song for a film is something that teaches me something new every time,” Sawant said.
The “Indian Idol” Season 1 winner said playback singers must keep the film’s characters in mind while recording.
“You have to keep in mind that you’re also representing the film’s characters while singing. I also lean towards creating something different that resonates with today’s youth and matches their trend, and this makes it possible. Soon, the song Swapna Sundari will be out for the audience, and I hope they shower it with the same love as always,” he said.
Sawant rose to fame after winning the first season of “Indian Idol.” His debut solo album, “Aapka Abhijeet Sawant,” was released in 2005. The same year, he made his playback singing debut in the film “Aashiq Banaya Aapne” with the song “Mar Jaawan Mit Jaawan.”
His second album, “Junoon,” was released in 2007, followed by his third studio album, “Farida,” in 2013.
Sawant made his acting debut in the 2009 film “Lottery” and later made a small appearance in “Tees Maar Khan.” He also appeared as himself in the romantic drama series “Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai” and the crime thriller series “C.I.D.” (Source: IANS)
