Soha Ali Khan Remembers Father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi on Death Anniversary
Mumbai — Actress Soha Ali Khan marked the 15th death anniversary of her father, former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, with an emotional social media post that also featured a handwritten letter from her daughter, Inaaya.
Soha shared a photo of herself sitting beside her father’s portrait, followed by an image of Inaaya paying respects to her grandfather.
Inaaya wrote in her letter, “Dear Sarkar Abba, I hope you have a lovely death anniversary in heaven. I hope I can someday see your spirit in real life. I am grateful to be apart of your family and must complement you of your daughter, as well as your cricket skills. – Inaaya (sic)”
Soha wrote, “My Abba ❤️🌈 15 years without you. Sometimes I wonder if I’m imagining my memories of you. But perhaps that is what memory is — love, recreating what it cannot bear to lose (sic).”
Soha frequently shares memories of her father. On his birth anniversary in January, she visited Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, where Pataudi captained India in several matches.
She also recalled the 1974 Test against the West Indies, when Pataudi returned to play despite suffering a fractured cheekbone and helped lead India to an 85-run victory.
Twinkle Khanna Reflects on Staying Out of the Limelight in Her 30s
Mumbai — Author and entrepreneur Twinkle Khanna has reflected on why she was comfortable staying out of the spotlight during her 30s and how her outlook has changed over time.
Sharing photos from a recent party on Instagram, Khanna credited her close friend Anu Dewan with encouraging her to become more visible.
“In my thirties, I was fine staying out of the limelight. My bestie @anudewan5 pushed me to stop hiding, do covers and get out there,” she wrote.
Khanna added that Dewan still encourages her to socialize and stay out later than she normally would.
“These days she sometimes forces me to stay out late and let my hair loose, which if I am honest, is what I need since I want to go to bed at nine-thirty. Best friends push you to be your best self, to shine, or in my case, twinkle:)”
Khanna, who stepped away from acting, has since built a career as an author. She made her literary debut in 2015 with “Mrs Funnybones” and later published “The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad.”
Sameera Reddy Promotes Body Positivity, Urges People to Embrace Their Bodies
Mumbai — Actress Sameera Reddy has shared a body positivity message encouraging people to embrace their appearance and not let outside criticism shape how they feel about themselves.
In an Instagram video, Reddy highlighted words such as “plumpy,” “thicc,” “curvy,” “chubby,” “healthy,” “chunky” and “golu” while appearing in several outfits.
“Your body listens and needs you to love it back irrespective of anything anyone has to say,” she wrote, adding the hashtags “#bodypositivity” and “#imperfectlyperfect.”
Her post comes after Salman Khan recently spoke out against body-shaming and online trolling during an episode of “Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar.”
Khan criticized people who target others over their age, weight, appearance, family background or motherhood.
“Why do you troll a woman who is pregnant? Everyone gains weight during pregnancy… she gained weight because she was pregnant; she will get fit again when she returns to films. She simply wanted to spend time with her family. Don’t troll,” he said.
Kareena Kapoor Shares Glimpse of 46th Birthday Celebration
Mumbai — Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor, who turned 46 on Sept. 21, shared a glimpse of her birthday celebration and thanked fans for their wishes.
Kapoor posted a photo of a chocolate cake topped with 46 candles, a gold “46” decoration and the message, “Happy Birthday Amma!”
“Thank you, everyone. I have felt the love in each and every message you’ve sent my way,” she wrote. “I’m forever grateful, and I will only and always continue to be myself.”
Her sister Karisma Kapoor also shared a childhood photo of the two and wrote, “Happy birthday to the best sister ever. Always side by side, always twinning and winning. Love you mostest.”
Soha Ali Khan, Saba Pataudi, Amrita Arora and Priyanka Chopra Jonas were among others who posted birthday wishes.
Born in Mumbai in 1980, Kapoor made her film debut in “Refugee” in 2000 and went on to star in films including “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,” “Jab We Met,” “3 Idiots,” “Udta Punjab,” “Veere Di Wedding” and “Crew.”
