Anupam Kher, Swaroop Sampat to Bring ‘Jaane Pehchaane Anjane’ to Greater Boston
ANDOVER, Mass. — Actors Anupam Kher and Swaroop Sampat will headline a performance of the Hindi musical comedy-drama Jaane Pehchaane Anjane on Sunday, Oct. 11, at the Collins Center for the Performing Arts in Andover, MA.
The Boston-area performance is being presented jointly by Dhoom Entertainment and Jay-Ho! as part of the production’s 2026 North American tour across the United States and Canada. Boston will host the tour’s final performance.
Kher, a two-time National Film Award recipient, and Sampat will appear with Meghna Malik, Maya Sharma, Vikas Rawat, Shraddha Mandale and Herman De Souza.
Produced by Anupam Kher Studio, the production is written and directed by National Award-winning filmmaker, playwright and screenwriter Gajendra Ahire. Music is by composer Anu Malik, with lyrics by Kausar Munir.
The play is set in a contemporary middle-class neighborhood and addresses companionship, aging, separation, self-discovery and relationships. The musical score features singers Shaan, Sukhwinder Singh and Anandi Joshi, along with Kher.
The production team includes choreographer Chirag Aggarwal, costume designer Lehan Devadhia Tibrewal and set designer Nitin Nerurkar. Artarena Creations is handling production management.
Dhoom Entertainment previously presented Kher in a Greater Boston engagement. Eshani Shah of Dhoom Entertainment said the company was looking forward to bringing him back with the new production.

Jay Kumar, founder of Jay-Ho.Com, said the production combines humor, music and themes intended to appeal to multiple generations.
The Boston performance is supported by The Treasury, Apna Bazar Farmers Market, Jamsan Management, Core Care Clinic, MAA Designs and Evergreen Adult Day Health Center & Adult Foster Care. Community and cultural organizations supporting the event include the India Association of Greater Boston, United India Association of New England, Hindi Manch, New England Marathi Mandal, GURJAR – Gujarati Association of New England and Mahadev Entertainment.
The North American tour is being coordinated by Rajender Singh of Star Promotions.
