Akshay Oberoi Buys Farmhouse in Karjat, Calls It His ‘Sanctuary’

Mumbai — Actor Akshay Oberoi has purchased a farmhouse in Karjat, saying he had long dreamed of having a home surrounded by nature.

Oberoi, whose latest release is the Yash-starrer “Toxic,” said the property took about a year and a half to build and has become a place where he can step away from the pace of life in Mumbai.

“This farmhouse is more than just a property; it’s my sanctuary. A place where I can disconnect from the chaos of Mumbai and reconnect with myself and my family,” Oberoi said in a statement.

He said spending time in a quieter, natural setting has given him a chance to relax and spend more time with his wife and son.

“The idea of having a home surrounded by nature has always been a dream,” he said. “It’s soothing and gives me the perfect escape from my hectic schedule.”

The holiday home was designed with Oberoi’s personal preferences in mind. Landscaping work is still underway, but the actor has already begun spending time there with family and friends.

Oberoi recently celebrated Christmas and New Year at the farmhouse with people close to him.

“I feel incredibly blessed,” he said. “This farmhouse wouldn’t have been possible without the fruitful projects I’ve been a part of recently. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come and how much I have to be thankful for.”

Oberoi most recently appeared in “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups,” a gangster drama starring Yash in a dual role. The film also features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.

The movie centers on Raya, a powerful gangster whose past eventually catches up with him when he is confronted by his estranged son. (Source: IANS)
