Anupam Kher unveils clean-shaven look for upcoming film

Mumbai — Veteran actor Anupam Kher has shaved off his moustache for an upcoming film, revealing a new look on social media and asking fans whether his signature facial hair should return.

Kher said he rarely removes his moustache because it gives him a sense of comfort, but the role required a different appearance.

“I rarely shave off my moustache. It has always given me the comforting feeling that, technically, I do have hair!! But a film demanded a new look, so the moustache had to make the sacrifice,” Kher wrote.

He added that he was enjoying the clean-shaven look and asked followers whether the moustache should “make a comeback” or remain on an “extended holiday.”

Fans responded with mixed opinions, with some praising his new appearance while others called for the moustache to return.

Earlier Monday, Kher also announced that he has signed his 555th film, though he did not reveal details about the project.

The actor’s upcoming projects also include “Shri Rambhoomi,” in which he plays late Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Ashok Singhal, as well as “Khosla Ka Ghosla 2” and an upcoming film from filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya.

Producer Ramesh Taurani said the film’s cast has not yet been finalized and urged media outlets and social media users not to circulate unverified reports.

“We would like to clarify that the cast of Race 4 has not yet been finalized,” the makers said in a statement. “Once the cast is finalized, we will make an official announcement from our end.”

The clarification follows speculation that Khan had been brought on board for the film. Previous reports have also linked Akshaye Khanna, Sidharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff to the project.

Earlier this year, Taurani denied reports that Khanna, who appeared in the original “Race,” would return for the fourth film.

The franchise began with “Race” in 2008, starring Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Anil Kapoor. “Race 2” followed in 2013 and “Race 3” in 2018.

Khan, who frequently posts fitness content, said the drink may be useful for vegetarians who need to plan their protein intake more carefully.

Her two-minute recipe includes matcha, protein powder, cold water, almond or coconut milk, ice, and optional vanilla essence and stevia.

To prepare it, Khan suggested whisking matcha with a small amount of cold water until smooth before adding protein powder and more water. The mixture is then frothed and combined with milk and ice.

Khan said she was surprised to enjoy the drink because she had never been a fan of matcha, adding that chocolate protein powder, vanilla and stevia improved the flavor.

She also cautioned that matcha contains caffeine and advised people who are caffeine-sensitive, pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or managing a medical condition to consult a doctor about their caffeine intake.

Khan stressed that the post was meant as a fun recipe and not medical or health advice.
