Annu Kapoor Says ‘Uttar Da Puttar’ Connected With Him Because of Its Relatable Theme

MUMBAI — Veteran actor Annu Kapoor says the story of the upcoming comedy Uttar Da Puttar resonated with him because of its exploration of a universal human tendency — searching for answers outside oneself.
Speaking about the film, Kapoor said he was drawn to its blend of humor and emotional depth.
“Uttar Da Puttar is a very interesting and relatable story. We all look for answers somewhere outside ourselves at some point in life,” Kapoor said in a statement shared with IANS. “What I liked about the film is that it talks about this idea with humor and heart. I had a wonderful time being part of it.”
The comments come as the makers unveiled the teaser for the film, offering audiences a first look at the comedy’s unconventional premise.
According to the teaser, the story revolves around the belief that a person’s fortunes can change simply by choosing the right direction in life. The film combines comedy with a search for answers, setting the stage for a series of humorous situations and unexpected twists.
Sharing the teaser on social media, the filmmakers described Uttar Da Puttar as a comedy built around a concept rarely explored on the big screen. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on July 24, with the trailer expected to be launched soon.
Producer Sandiip Kapur said the film draws inspiration from experiences many people can relate to.
“Uttar Da Puttar is a story that comes from a very relatable place. Many of us, at some point, have looked for answers outside ourselves, sometimes even in directions and signs,” Kapur said. “The film explores that idea in a highly entertaining way, with humor and heart.”
Directed by Ravinder Siwach, the film stars Annu Kapoor, Rukhsar Rehman, Brijendra Kala, Pavan Malhotra, Ishtiyak Khan, Jeeveshu Ahluwalia, Rajendra Sethi, Sumit Gulati and Nitin Arora.
