Sanju Rathod, Isha Malviya Reunite for Upbeat Track “Bangles”
MUMBAI — Singer-songwriter Sanju Rathod has released his latest track “Bangles,” featuring actor Isha Malviya, marking their reunion after the success of “Shaky” and further expanding the reach of Marathi pop music.
The song blends reggae influences with Marathi folk elements, delivering a sound that is both contemporary and rooted in tradition. Built around a playful love story, “Bangles” reflects Rathod’s signature style with a vibrant, cross-cultural feel.
“With ‘Bangles’, I wanted to create something fun, rooted, and instantly catchy. Reuniting with Isha Malviya brought back that magic we’ve shared before. Collaborating with the incredible duo Piyush-Shazia added a whole new energy to the project,” Rathod said.
The music video is set in a fictional setting called Cool Wadi, combining rustic aesthetics with a modern, stylized twist that transitions into a hyper-urban visual world. Directed and choreographed by Piyush-Shazia, the video complements the song’s upbeat tone, with music produced by Gaurav Rathod.
Rathod rose to prominence with his viral 2024 hit “Gulabi Sadi,” followed by tracks such as “Shaky,” “Kali Bindi,” and “Sundari.” His music blends traditional Marathi folk with contemporary pop, Afrobeats, and indie influences. His earlier collaboration with Malviya, “Shaky Shaky,” topped YouTube’s Top 100 Music Videos Global chart and amassed more than 100 million views along with millions of Instagram reels.
Malviya recently made her film debut in the Punjabi romantic drama “Ishqa’n De Lekhe,” directed by Manvir Brar and co-starring Gurnam Bhullar. The film follows a student leader whose relationship is derailed by campus politics and misunderstanding, leading to tragic consequences.
