Sudarsan Pattnaik Creates 20-Foot Veena Sand Art for Asha Bhosle at Puri Beach

The Padma awardee’s intricate sculpture, crafted with students, honours the late singer’s timeless musical legacy, while Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi joins in mourning her passing.

Bhubaneswar– Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik paid a moving tribute to legendary singer Asha Bhosle by creating a striking 20-foot-long Veena-shaped sand sculpture at Puri Beach.

The installation carried the heartfelt message, “Tribute to Asha Tai — your voice will live in our hearts forever,” symbolising devotion, music, and reverence for the iconic artist. Designed with intricate detailing, the sculpture captured the grace, brilliance, and emotional depth that defined Bhosle’s illustrious career.

Pattnaik, a Padma awardee known for his evocative sand art, was joined by students from his institute, adding a collective spirit to the tribute. The visual homage reflected not only artistic craftsmanship but also the profound connection generations of listeners have shared with Bhosle’s voice.

“We have grown up listening to Asha Ji’s songs—her voice will live in our hearts forever,” Pattnaik said, echoing the sentiments of millions across the country.

Asha Bhosle, one of India’s most celebrated playback singers, passed away at the age of 92, leaving behind an unparalleled legacy spanning thousands of songs across multiple languages.

Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi also expressed deep sorrow over her demise, describing her voice as “an emotion that defined generations” and offering prayers for her eternal peace.
