Presented by INDIA New England News and produced by the Mishra Group, the Expo officially kicks off the 2026 Indian and South Asian wedding season in New England. Drawing hundreds of brides, grooms, families, and industry leaders, the event has become the region’s premier destination for wedding planning, fashion, décor, and cultural celebration.
And setting the stage ablaze this year is the dynamic Aangikam Dance Academy, led by renowned choreographer and cultural ambassador Jasmine Shah.
A Celebration of Sangeet and Mehndi Nights
Shah and her academy will present multiple groups of performers in a vibrant showcase inspired by Sangeet and Mehndi nights — two of the most joyous and colorful pre-wedding traditions in Indian celebrations.
“Our academy will bring several groups of performers and dancers who will truly capture the spirit of Sangeet and Mehndi nights — the laughter, the rhythm, the playful competition between families, and the pure joy that surrounds Indian weddings,” said Shah. “Our dancers are looking forward to a super performance as every year, but this year especially, we’re elevating it with bigger group formations, richer choreography, and a mix of classical grace and high-energy folk styles that will get everyone excited for wedding season.”
She added, “This isn’t just about performance — it’s about recreating the feeling of a real wedding celebration on stage. We want couples and families to see themselves in these dances and imagine how they can bring that magic to their own Sangeet. It’s colorful, it’s emotional, it’s festive — and we can’t wait to share it.”
Known for her expertise in Bharat Natyam, Manipuri, and regional Indian folk dances, Shah has built Aangikam into one of New England’s leading Indian dance institutions, training students of all ages while preserving cultural traditions through performance and education.
