“It’s phenomenal to see so many people of diverse backgrounds coming together to celebrate peace and togetherness,” said Dhanashree Ramachandran, Director of Community Advancement at Art of Living Boston. “More than 50 percent of participants are first-time meditators.  It says a lot of about what choices we are making as a society.”

She said many dignitaries, government officials, and movers and shakers from Boston community will be meeting with Spiritual guru and the Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who is on a Get Happy tour across the United States.

Get Happy Boston is the biggest meditation workshop in New England with more than 1,000 participants, said Ramachandran.

Boston event will be held at Track and Tennis Center of Boston University located at 100 Ashford Street in Boston on June 25-26. The fee per attendee for two days is $90.

Participants will have a great opportunity to learn and meditate in Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s presence. He had started the organization with the vision of One World Family 35 years ago. Since then millions of people from 152 countries have been touched and benefitted by his vision and teachings.

“It the biggest volunteer-run non-profit organization in the world,” Ramachandran said. “We are absolutely thrilled about Get Happy Boston. We have the best team of volunteers. A team of about 100 volunteers has been working for over a month to organize the workshop.”

Aarti Varshney, a volunteer with Art of Living, said meditation and breathing practices eliminate stress.

“When you are stress-free you are available to experience joy and happiness that life offers every single moment,” said Varshney.  “Volunteering is an expression of the same joy. It’s a privilege to be a part of such dynamic team.”

The workshop will be held at Boston University’s Track and Tennis Center located at 100, Ashford Street, Boston, MA. Two sessions will be conducted on June 25th and 26th from 4-7 pm on each day.  The cost is $95. Sign-up at www.artofliving.org/GetHappyBoston. Contact 617-466-9642 if you need assistance.
