Mumbai– Actress Zaara Yesmin, who stars alongside Bhojpuri singer-actor Neelkamal Singh in the newly released track “Kudi Anjaani,” revealed that the project pushed her creatively and tested her acting skills in unexpected ways.
Speaking about why she chose to be part of the project, Yesmin said, “First of all, the beats of the track impressed me immediately. Giving it a desi touch with Neelkamal’s voice turned it into a great fusion dance number.”
Known for her roles in various musical projects, Yesmin noted that Kudi Anjaani stood out for its demand for expressive acting rather than just dance. “I’ve done many kinds of songs, each with different styles, but this one really challenged me to use my expression skills more than anything else,” she said.
She also shared that her look for the video—a mix of traditional desi style with a hint of glamour—was carefully crafted and not easy to pull off. “That blend of completely desi and glam was a challenge, but we were happy with how it turned out. I enjoyed it—it was a fun track to shoot, both for its beats and the overall vibe on set.”
Reflecting on her artistic journey, Yesmin explained how the experience added depth to her career. “This project gave me an opportunity to be versatile with both concept and dance forms. It’s definitely a valuable addition to my creative path.”
Kudi Anjaani marks Yesmin’s first professional collaboration with Neelkamal Singh, a widely popular figure in the Bhojpuri music industry. She expressed excitement about working with him and said she’s eager to see how fans react to their chemistry on screen.
When asked about her inspiration for the role, Yesmin shared that she looked to Bollywood icon Sushmita Sen. “I had to channel Sushmita Sen’s killer expressions from the past and amplify them with my own style,” she said.
She concluded by noting what made the video stand out: “The composition, the Hindi-Bhojpuri blend, the choreography, and the expressive, fun tone—it all came together to make this song iconic in its own way.” (Source: IANS)
