Chennai– Superstar Rajinikanth is once again winning hearts with his signature charm and effortless moves in the newly released music video “Chikitu” from his upcoming film Coolie. The high-energy number, which has quickly caught fans’ attention, features a vibrant ensemble including Rajinikanth himself, music composer Anirudh Ravichander, singer T. Rajendar, and choreographer Sandy—all grooving together to the peppy beats.

Adding star power to the track, actress Pooja Hegde makes a glamorous special appearance, raising the entertainment quotient.

The makers, Sun Pictures, unveiled the song on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle with the caption: “Coolie Varaan sollikko..! #Chikitu Music Video is out now! #GetChikitufied. #Coolie releasing worldwide August 14th.” The track has been released in multiple languages—Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi—appealing to Rajinikanth’s pan-Indian fan base.

Directed as a high-octane action thriller, Coolie features a star-studded ensemble. Alongside Rajinikanth, the film includes Telugu icon Nagarjuna, Kannada star Upendra, Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir, and Tamil veteran Sathyaraj. Bollywood legend Aamir Khan is also set to make a cameo, with additional roles played by Rebe, Monica John, and Junior MGR.

The film reunites Rajinikanth and Sathyaraj after 38 years, their last collaboration being the 1986 Tamil blockbuster Mr. Bharath, where Sathyaraj memorably played Rajinikanth’s father. Reports note that Sathyaraj had previously declined offers to work in Rajinikanth’s Sivaji and Enthiran, making this reunion highly anticipated.

Coolie marks Rajinikanth’s 171st film and stands apart from the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), despite widespread fan speculation.

The film is backed by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, with music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, and editing by Philomin Raj.

Coolie is slated for a global theatrical release on August 14. (Source: IANS)
